I'm looking for a program that allows you to take 2 networked computers and switch between them using only one mouse and one keyboard.. Anyone know the name of this program and where I can find it? Any help would be appreciated.

Are you talking about remote desktop control software like PcAnywhere?

I'm looking for something similar to this:

http://www.stardock.com/products/multiplicity/

Only it's not that. There is another program like it, for free, that I can't remember the name of at the moment. I think its something like synergy or something but google brings up nothing.

i think u can use nview for the nvidia cards and that should work but i think thats only for one pc

nView is for multiple monitors on one computer. It won't help him in this situation. As for a program thats free, I don't have a clue. Sorry bud.

Uh...no. But I'm going to look into what you posted anyway. Thanks again.

it's the best piece of kit i've ever used for virtual networking. never had any problems with it!

Well if the computers are far apart, use vnc. If they are on the same desk you can just use a KVM switch.

They are on the same desk. Whats a KVM switch exactly?

I got my setup working with synergy and its great but there are two things that piss me off:

1) I can't lock one screen out unless I just exit the entire program. So I can't play an FPS on one computer and then switch to the other to do something then go back to my game.

2) Synergy always has to have a command line window open to work. This takes up some of my taskbar which I HATE.

I know its free, but does anyone know any other program besides synergy that does this type of thing? I'd prefer it free but I'll pay if needed. I really want this setup to work, as its kickass.

Edit: Nevermind. I found out how to fix both of my little problems. Me love this thing. :cheese:

Well a KVM swithc is a little dohickey which would sit on the desk with a switch which can go from A to B (thats the obvious part).
Your mouse, keyboard and monitor all go into the KVM and you run TWO sets of the same cables out to your two seperate computers. Flip the switch and the mouse and keyboard now go to B and you get the video from B.
About $20 US at most large computer outlets.
