So I never really got around to getting a job after school. I did my bicycle trip, and then I hung out in Montreal for a while and worked some odd jobs for a few weeks until my amigo said we should drive down to Mexico to do some climbing. It turned out to be a good idea. It's sunny here, and the food is good, and the beer comes in 940 ml bottles, and everything is cheap. I highly recommend it.

I'm waiting for the post "someone stole my mountain" now.

Good stuff. Those things look huge.

Screw employment, man, you're doing more worthwhile stuff than many people will ever do.

Great pics. I had a good time in Mexico when I was there, but didn't see much more than Mex. City and Teotihuacan. What part are you in?

Rock climbing looks like too much hard work though.

How the hell do you have money for all this if you didnt get a job? Food, Clothes, Medical shiz, accessories, other stuff.

^ What I want to know. :P

Sweet pics, and as ever, I am filled with a combination of jealousy and apathy.

I earned about 300 dollars in Montreal. I had 800 in the bottom of my bank account. I already owned climbing gear. The drive cost about 60 dollars of gas when split between all of us. There were a few other expenses and climbing stops. Camping is 50 pesos per night, about 4 dollars US. Beer is 20 pesos for the liter bottles. Food is really cheap. (I wish I had a picture, but for 47 pesos I got a hamburger that was literally the size of my head, 20 cm diameter, with fries on the side). Climbing is free.

I'm in one of the pictures.

You adventurous son of a bitch.

I'm jealous!

What part of Mexico is that? My friends and I made a road trip about halfway down Baja California for some spear fishing, and it was kind of a sh!t hole most of the way there (but swimming at night with the bioluminescent plankton was epic).

Mexico is the kidnapping capital of the world, great looking scenery but if you look wealthy or white, probably best to stay away.

I've been thinking about travelling around the world, but 1) vcant be bothered with faffing about with visa paperwork and 2) I HATE the cold and I'm likely to be cold allot.

Thread Title said:

Isn't that the same as being dead? :p

Seriously, though, freaking awesome pictures. That's some awesomeness right there.

Man thats awesome dude, so do you speak spanish? Or do the locals speak english or what? Your pretty much living my dream right now, Im saving up for walking the AT and PC sometime next year. Good job dude! Also watch your back, some guys may want to harvest your organs.

If you're in Mexico you can't really be alive. Not for long.
Too many vampires down there.

Sounds like easy living, unless you get seriously injured... which from looking at your activity is very possible, lol.

Where do you get your income?

I want that bathroom in my ****ing mountain!

Isn't it kind of risky to be living like this, with little money in the bank?

And climbing tall mountains?

"Best to stay away"? What the hell do you know? Have you ever been to Mexico, or even North America for that matter? There's definitely plenty of people/places/stuff you don't want to mess around with in Mexico, but it's a laid back, cool place overall in a lot of the areas. Just very poor. Most of the native Mexicans I've encountered here in NC or when I went there a few years ago were cool and friendly.

Dan, awesome pictures. I could never climb shit like that but I bet it's epic as hell. Whereabouts in Mexico are you?

Awww and here I'm thinking you biked all the way down there. (Then you'd definitely get jacked)

Hah! Apparently someone hasn't been kidnapped before.

I cried when I read this thread, I'm so jealous. He's doing all that while I'm rotting in a dusty classroom learning about boring shit that nobody cares about.

Bluelist west.

Sounds good and cheap if youre a regular traveller and you know how to find good spots.

Thats incredible Dan. You do so much cool shit, im jealous.

Won't be jealous when he drinks the water and gets Walking Limonia.
