Im Stuck, Any Help Plz

Im Stuck on half life 2, on the route canal i think it is, ive dropped into this room and i dont know how to get out, you can go down a ladder into water an ther is a big hole but i cant get into it. help please thanks Kingy

If im thinking correctly, you gotta go up the ladder to the top level, follow the catwalk, and in the room there is a BUNCH of pipes, you gotta go down the right side, and a wheel is down there. You turn it, and water rises, and you can go back up and into that hole that you originally couldn't get to.

This was the only part in the entire game apart from I got stuck in (apart from Ravenholm).

It's the place: BUT: which hole do you mean. i see no hole at all ???

He means the pipe that's underneath the metal grating (go down the ladder) that was too high to reach, but is reachable once you flood that area.

I will always remember this puzzle.

Whilst downloading HL2 on Tuesday the 16th 2004, I was searching through all the Half Life 2 threads that were on the two forums I frequented back then. One of them was asking about this puzzle and had posted pictures, about two of each room. On one of the pictures he had taken a shot right by the valve and I said:

"Hey, isn't that a Valve right there?"

And he came back 10 minutes later with a virtual beer. So, to cut a long story short, I solved this puzzle before I even played the game. :E
