Imam freaks out on air, calls on show-host to "come back to God"

well, I can see why that Imam was frustrated. All he was being asked were rhetorical questions. Too bad he couldn't express that frustration a little bit better.

He did make a good point though of saying that instead of throwing shit at eachother we should be trying to work through our differences. Maybe that would have gotten us somewhere instead of egging him on with even more rhetorical questions.

hayahhayahhayahhayahhayah!!! I'll make the sacrifice! *BOOOOM* :D

this is news worthy because?

the host is an idiot, he's pandering to the lowest common denominator by asking him questions that have nothing to do the subject at hand ..why is he even asking about whether he's are anti-semites or if hezbollah is a terrorist group?

is this was a christian radio you would go crazy.

hypocrite

Yeah, seriously, if the roles were switched (Muslim talk show host, pastor on the phone), CptStern would have posted this exact same damn thread, berating the pastor and praising the host.

Show us a case of a Christian being asked on the radio whether he's an anti-semite or if anti-abortion fundamentalists are a terrorist group. Then we'll talk.

See, that's the big problem here.
Nemesis isn't mad that the guy was religious. He's mad that he's specifically islamic. A christian similarly ranting about god, a common event, isn't newsworthy for some reason.
That's hypocritical.

Seriously, without the anti-islam sentiment, this thread is just "religious person unhappy, evokes god". Stop the presses.
What exactly, does this thread prove?
What was the reason for it being posted?

Say what you will about Stern, and I seldom agree with him myself, but he generally posts threads about Christians being discriminatory or trying to impede the democratic process.
He doesn't as far as I can tell, say "Hey this christian is yelling. Christians are bad."
This thread, however, does exactly that.

I've got absolutely nothing against being critical of islam, but there must be a proper sense reason behind it.
It helps no-one to just blindly hate.

It's really damn easy to answer those questions:
"No, and yes"
THAT'S ALL THAT'S NEEDED.

Deny the accusations please, that's all I need to hear.

I didn't say theorhetically. I mean in real life, show me a situation in which it is considered acceptable to assume someone is anti-semetic because they are christian.

Where the sentiment is widespread enough that it's a question you think is important to ask. Like that muslim congressman being asked on TV whether or not he's a terrorist, simply because his religion is muslim and his skin is brown.

I'm not defending this guy for his god bullshit, but rational debate shouldn't be the victim in the fight against religion.

This nonsense helps them win.

It is no better.

I'm sick of being pegged as some kind of islam supporter just because people keep failing to make rational arguments against them.
Meaning and intelligence are the only things that can ever win this "war on terror".
And honestly, it's not that difficult to say meaningful and intelligent things.

So why do we have this thread?

Hey, a guy's gotta troll from time to time :imu: .

The guy's full name is Husham al-Husseiny.

Al Hussainy’s remarks to the Democratic National Committee: We thank you god, to bless us among your creations. We thank you, god, to make us a great nation. We thank you, god toss send us your messages through our father Abraham, and Jesus and Mohammed, through you, god, we unite, so guide us to the right spot we wish for peace, equality and help us to stop the war and violence, and oppression and occupation.

This was what he questioned him about. Here's the link to the aforementioned interview - http://youtube.com/watch?v=3lhHyz3h-dk

The reasons for asking him if he supports these guys is most likely because he has called for the killing of all Jews, supported Hamas and Arafat, etc. I'm sure I could dig more up. Google it if you want.

Here's something more from Robert Spencer on Imam Husham Al-Husseiny - http://hotair.com/?episode_id=5557

I knew he supported HizbAllah, but I didn't know that among those HizbAllah flags flew the all-too-known Swastika as well. Neither did I know that what he preached was not openminded in any way whatsoever. According to Islam, all the people he mentioned - Ibrahim, Moses, Jesus, Muhammed, are all prophets, so not much there. And in reality, what seemed like an open prayer, was actually the First Sura. Islamic commentators interpret this specific part as condemning those who have strayed from the path(Islam), meaning the Christians, and those who are doomed are the Jews.

What a tolerant guy, and what an ignorant crowd.

ROBERT SPENCER is the director of Jihad Watch, a project of the David Horowitz Freedom Center, and the author of two bestselling books on Islamic jihad. Spencer is a writer and researcher who has written six books, eight monographs, and well over two hundred articles about jihad and Islamic terrorism.

Khaleel Mohammed, Louay M. Safi and Carl Ernst assert that Spencer's scholarship and interpretations of Islam are fundamentally flawed - that he supports preconceived notions through selection bias - that he lacks genuine understanding and; that 'he has no academic training in Islamic studies whatsoever; his M.A. degree was in the field of early Christianity'.

......

Hot air indeed; the symbol for JIHAD WATCH (the crescent with a star inside) isn't even related to Islam.

It's the symbol of Turkey, which is an ally of the United States.
Give me a break.

This is the political equivalent of Clarky: get all your ideas from an insular womb of google videos and people who already agree with you, never challenge yourself with opposing viewpoints, never properly research claims.

Nobody here respects terrorists, but the sad fact is we've been given many good reasons not to respect you either.
Is this honestly the best you can do to argue against the violence and terror of Islam?
Ersatz McCarthyism?
