Important Question! Games 2004

Why Games are so bad on PC plataform...? all i try two say if i buy CZ, UT2004, HL2 i need two upgrade my PC two play 99% fine

All the time wen those new games release on CD-ROM PC i have two check System Requirements why so HIGH

My computer´s

CPU PIII 1GB
CPU P4 1.5GB
nVidia GeForce4 MX 64 MB
256MB PC133 RAM

Hmmm but this is crazy same game on XBOX Plataform System Requirements is so low that my :rolling:

Features XBOX

An NVIDIA graphics processing unit (GPU), delivering superior graphic performance.
An Intel 733MHz processor, the most powerful CPU of any console.
An internal hard drive, for massive storage of game information — a first in the console gaming industry.

Why ?
my CPU´s are more powerfull that 733MHz
My videos card´s my be is little low but geforce4 is more new that Video XBOX right????

so i have two buy more RAM, new video card two play HL2 99% fine..

Pentium III 1GB
Mother Board 815
Memory 256MB
Video card geforce4 MX400 some are 32, 64 and DDR

it would have? buy 80GB hard disk for HL2??? :upstare:

A console and PC have very different architecture.
Couple that with the fact that a console has 733MHz near-dedicated processing power to games ALONE (no bloated operating system), coupled with the graphics card, they can suck alot more juice out of it compared to a comparable PC.

I'm sure someone will drop by with a more technical explanation, but until then..

that's just the nature of the pc

the games progressively get better and better as technology advances. sure it can be pricey if your one who constantly upgrades, but there's no point in designing a game for old technology when there's much better systems to design for that'll make for a better game.

consoles on the other hand are pretty much stuck with what they've got until the next generation systems come out. nice that you basically never have to upgrade anything but then again your not going to see any "huge" leaps in the visual department until the next generation of consoles come out.

and i hate to be the one to break it to ya but your most likely gonna want to just buy a new computer because just by looking at your specs, about the only thing that doesn't need an upgrade is probably your computer case :o

Try running your games at 640x480 then you will be comparing console vs PC at the same resolution. ;)
PCs allow you to play at much higher resolutions and the games contain much higher detail.

Wrong, actually. The video adapter on the X-Box is more powerful than your GeForce4 MX.

You won't need a hard drive that large. My guess is that you'll need about 2-3 Gigabytes of free space.

Blahblahblah's really random points™

1) Consoles run at a lower resolution (less than 640 x 480)
2) Consoles are not capable of running DX 9.0 effects
3) Console game developers only have to worry about optimizing their game for one type of console setup.
4) Consoles can't do other things besides games
5) Your GeForce 4 Mx is based off of the GeForce 2 line of graphics cards.
6) Consoles have a small amount dedicated memory which runs really, really fast. PC's require more memory (to run more applications at once) which must run slower.
7) I prefer gaming on PC's than gaming on a console.
8) PC's have had harddrives alot longer than your precious X-Box. In fact, rumor has it the X-Box 2 has nicked the harddrive to keep costs down.
9) PC's has a more accurate control setup (keyboard and mouse). Lets see you play a RTS game with a gamepad.

Ever play StarCraft on the N64? It was surprising how well that control scheme actually worked (even if the game was a crap port)
