I am the editor of my school newspaper. I want to do a story on Half-Life 2's imminent release, like any good HL2.netter would do. Is it legal to take the pictures on the Media page and print them in my newspaper, provided I keep any watermarks and credit your site?

Thanks.

Wait for Icarus to give the final word, but I'm 99% sure it's fine as long as you add a "Image: Halflife2.Net (Valve Software)" underneath (where you'd put a photo credit)

Like SidewinderX said, 99% sure you can so long as you cite where they came from in a proper format.

Are you REALLY that worried about getting sued over free publicity? Furthermore, why would you even credit HL2.net with screenshots from HL2? :|

You only have to if the images are exclusively for HalfLife2.net, otherwise you're free to use them. As well, when you're done, could you post the article? I'd really enjoy reading it.

It's not just gonna be Half-Life 2, it's going to be all the new games coming out. Halo 2 will be included, to the scorn of many.

But thus comes my evil plan - fanatics will pick up the article for Halo 2, but with some hyperbole and well chosen screenshots, may come away wanting Half-Life 2 more. Mwahahahahah....
