Important questions about HL2 Ep3

I understand what happens in the hl2 series, but I still have some questions, statements, and maybe a few suggestion:

Questions:
1: The advisor's have come to their power, so, I dont understand this whole "advisor" thing, are they just an alien that the combine found with extreme power that there using as their "advisors"?
2: If the Combine invade Earth WITH other aliens, but grab our race and try to "protect it" why do they want to kill us off so bad? Why dont they just kill us all in the first place and invade another planet if they are the ultimate destroyers?
3: I'm still afraid I dont understand EVERYTHING about what happened in Black Mesa, pretty much we were stupid with a secret base in New Mexico and were finding aliens when a test went wrong that opened a portal, right? If i'm wrong about this please tell me.
4: Breen was killed, but why did the Combine apoint a HUMAN ruler to rule THEM if they could just walk up there and shoot him in the face? I mean, they worshipped him, they let him control them, they let him send out themselves to have their face's ripped off by an awsome one man army better than Chuck Norris named Gordon Freeman, and they let him RULE them? Why?
5: (extra) when Ep 3 comes out can we continue with more Half-Life? Like an HL3? I bet millions of people would love this, but if even possible you would need to make it real good, like the aliens come to take our planet back. Of course if we do that we dont want a retarded game do we? We want more kickass battle's and a special new rebelion, Earth would think it was safe after we proved we beat the Combine (if we win in hl2 ep 3)
and just went back to our normal lives and rebuilt all cities, which we find out is a terrible mistake when Combine decide it's time to destroy us once and for all!!!
6: (another extra XD) Can we bring back old Aliens in Ep3? Ive seen many comments on how people miss the HoundEye's, Gargantua, Ichthyosaur, Gator monster things (forgot their names), and old bosses like nihilanth, why cant HE make a comeback?
7: Last question, will there or could there be an Half-Life movie once the games are finished? I bet it would be even MORE popular then the movie Avatar, by ALOT!!!:E:naughty:

Like I said, I dont understand this whole thing that happened, its an amazing game and I cant wait for more but just to get this straight, what happened was Aliens took over Earth after the BLACK MESA incident, and a group of Aliens called Combine decided to "protect us" and kill us off in another way, we never saw a combine's face or body in the game but they are HUMANOID, and can do tests to give us THEIR armor and brainwash us to make them. So we rebeled and won in episode 2 but still had a ton of Combine and advisors to fight in this coming episode, now that they cant earn reinforcements from space unless they use what is now our old technology for teleportation from BlackMesa which is on only one spot, The Borealis. Since Blackmesa was nuked (Half-Life Opposing Force) that means only one place has that tech, like i said, the Borealis. So in Ep3 we will learn what the Borealis incident was, and for the record, answer this and the last thing i have below.

My last thing is about the Borealis, was it a seperate incident from Blackmesa that happened BEFORE the Blackmesa incident, or after, or at the same time?

Probably because they're supervising the planet. They're seen talking to Breen on videocalls. They're his advisors and they oversee the running of the planet.

Who said they want to kill us all or are the ultimate destroyers? Look at their name; they're called the "Combine" or the "Universal Union". They're assimilating humans into their ranks. The striders, gunships, etc are all previous alien species assimilated into the ranks of the Combine and that's what the Overwatch soldiers are becoming too. They're making humans into a new type of drone for them to use.

You should play Half-Life 1, but basically they were researching teleportation technology and found a way into a "boarder world" called Xen, which acts as a bottleneck for interdimensional transport. They were taking samples of alien creatures and crystal samples for testing. The crystals were very useful for teleportation technology. Then an extremely special crystal was provided to Black Mesa by the g-man and when they attempted to analyse it it caused an interdimensional tear between Earth and Xen. The aliens thought they were being invaded and retaliated. A military clean-up was then sent in to kill everything in the facility and hide what happened. Eventually Gordon Freeman travelled to Xen and killed the Nihilanth, who was a powerful being who controlled the Xen aliens' portals. This appears to have caused massive portal storms across the entire planet doing it serious harm. Black Mesa was then nuked.

Some time later the Combine invaded Earth.

Breen did not rule the Combine. They did not worship him. I have no idea where you are getting this from. Breen was appointed by the Combine to act as the face of leadership for the humans to help the conversion process. He's there because people would respond better to Breen being seen to be in charge of everything rather than giant alien slugs.

We have no idea. Valve have not shared their plans for the future of the series with the public.

Nihilanth is dead and why are you are you talking about "we"? We are not making the games, Valve is. We can't bring back anything. Take these ideas up with Gabe Newell.

Valve have said in the past they have nothing the idea of making a Half-Life movie, but all of the scripts and ideas pitched to them have been terrible and mostly just an attempt to cash in on a popular brand. They could probably make one themselves, but Valve are a rather small company and must make choices regarding what manpower can be spent where and where would be best to put it. For the moment an official Half-Life film looks very unlikely.

You're a bit confused. The Combine are an empire spanning multiple worlds. The "humanoids" you fight in HL2 are just that; humans. They are people that have been mechanically enhanced and altered to be a new branch of the Combine's forces. If the can be said to be a true face to the Combine then as far as we know it's the advisors. They are the most high-up the chain of command that we have seen.

The Borealis was a ship belonging to Aperture Science, not Black Mesa. It's dock can be found in Portal 2 in the old abandoned test areas. Those areas were sealed off in the 80s, so it happened sometime before then. The Black Mesa incident happened in the 00s.

First off, the combine are a race of creatures that go planet to planet, harvest that planet's resources, and "combine" themselves with the native population. Gunships, combine soldiers and striders were all at one point creatures on a planet that the combine came to. These creatures then either willingly or not were manipulated by the combine into the things they are now. And also, the reason the combine didn't just kill all humans is that they need us as workers/soldiers.

Combine advisers are, to the best of our knowledge, the only true combine, in that they haven't been "combined" with any other species. There isn't really any proof for this claim, but it makes scenes.

The Advisors control the entire Combine Empire and all of their operations. They organized the invasion of Earth and placed Breen in charge as a mere puppet for their plans. No one is higher up in the Combine hierarchy than the Advisors, and no one has the authority to command them.

Not sure what you mean by this. The Combine aren't a barbaric or primitive society in any way. They wanted Earth for their own personal gain and used their technology to capture the planet. Their desire was never to eradicate the human population at all. In fact, it would've been pointless. The Combine aren't stupid. They're powerful, intelligent, and know what they're doing. Earth had all of the resources they needed, and the idea of invading another planet or exterminating everyone would've sounded foolish to them.

Black Mesa took many risks, but they weren't stupid. They were simply trying to compete with Aperture Science's teleportation technology and stumbled upon Xen in their experiments, bringing back GG-3883 and causing a resonance cascade.

Breen didn't rule anything. He was a mere puppet controlled by the Combine, and the Advisors always made the final decision.

It was a separate incident at Aperture Science. It occurred at the time when Black Mesa and Aperture Science were competing with each other for funding. It happened before the Black Mesa Incident.

Can't really be sure, most likely they have just alligned with the combine, advisors ARE powerful but unlike the combine, i doubt they could take over planet after planet. My best guess is that they're extremely smart and have been appointed to the actual 'ruling' of the planet where the combine sit on their high horse and watch over us

The combine see earth as a good control point for whatever reason (probably due to the high population) and have learned that humans are very much adaptable, intelligent, and resourceful, they're trying to get us to join them, be it by making us slaves (like they did with the Vortigaunts) or by choice (Like Civil Protection and Overwatch)

I'm not too sure about this myself, i've never played HL1 but my best bet would be the rift that Gordon opened to multiple alien worlds (including Xen, the combine home world) frightened them and they saw it as some kind of invasion, so they struck back and took over earth.

Breen never ruled the combine, he was appointed dictator over many human cities (his base of operations was in City 17 in a giant tower called the Citadel which was destroyed along side City 17 following the events of Episode 1). The combine appointed him thusly because people would much rather trust a human ruler over lets say an advisor.

I highly, HIGHLY, doubt that Episode 3 will be the end of Half Life. (this is all my opionion) Half life 3 will cover the Borealis, i don't know what Valve will add for this but it said somewhere that Episodes 1 2 and 3 are prologue to HL2, Half life 3 would most likely cover the resistance taking back earth and they could go so far as to making HL4 Gordan and the resistance destroying Xen all together.
Anyways, i assume the borealis will hold some kind of technology from aperature that would improve the chances of defeating the combine greatley.

I would love to see old aliens, thats what i was disheartened about the most in HL2, the severe lack of aliens. Other then Headcrabs, Antlions, and Vortigaunts there werent many aliens that didn't seem like valve was trying to make a 'miniboss' I'd much rather have Bullsquids and HoundEye's then the very occasional strider battle!

The borealis is Aperature technology (Aperature Science is a company rivaling against Black Mesa and the facility where Portal 1 and 2 take place, I thought it was obvious but the first thing that struck me when i learned of the Borealis was that Aperature's portal technologies was being tested to transport larger objects (the current portal device is only able to fit something of human size) and it worked but they teleported the borealis which may or may not be important to them). And for the record, we never 'won' in HL2, in short, we destroyed City 17 which was only ONE of many crucial points for the combine, we havn't actually even killed or hurt a single combine yet.

This guy is confusing the 'human combine soldiers' with 'combine' in general. That's why he says Breen commanded them and they worshipped him. The advisors (the apparant rulers of the Universal Union) were not commanded by Breen, it was the other way around. Breen commanded the military ground forces and CPs on Earth only
