Importing models from HL2 to HL:S

I am wondering how possible is this?

If someone knows how or finds a link explaining on how to use HL2 models in HL:S please post here.

I would really like to see the scientists, Barney, Gman, Barnacle... ect in HL:S it would really add to the port.
 
It's fairly possible, our Black Mesa : Source modification will be releasing a patch (very soon hopefully) to do this where possible, along with textures and sounds :)
 
Good, as I hear that it uses the HL ones !!!!!
Why couldnt they use the bloody hi-defintion pack, That I would have accepted but the old ones :( thats a bad move

Ohh btw Half Life 2 is absolutely stunning!

That is a good news.

Maybe you guys can release two verions, a mid-conversion where the character/enemy models and some textures (textures like the walls, floor, ground stuff that mainly takes up the screen) are updated. This would allow for a fresh look into HL:S very soon.

A total conversion would be nice but I don't want to have to wait until Summer 2005 to play it!

Yeh that was our plan anyway alehm, releasing a patch (or two) with new models and textures when they are ready, and levels later on for HL:S owners.

And for HL2 base a total overhaul :)

your overhaul mod used to sound good, now its joined the others as a half arsed texture replacer :( By the time you've sorted that you wont be interested in doing it properly.

Oh well.. someone will.. oneday..
 
Dark Elf - The texture & model replacer is only for HL:Source owners. Will be a simple patch.

The HL2 full version will be much more than this. We won't be releasing any patches for HL:S however until the main mod is well underway.
 
Doesnt HLS still use the old mouth method? Simple faces.
 
As long as you don't port Barney's model over to Halflife: Source, i will be happy. The problem being, you'll have Barney: Resistance Fighter working as a security guard.

I wouldn't mind a patch to port over the pistol model, the crowbar model, the rpg model and rockets, the grenade model, and the shotgun model, as they can be replaced with out looking out of place.
 
Can you somehow scale the levels better? I feel like I can jump for miles.
