Not sure where to post this, but...

I have read all the books, listened to the audiobooks, and seen all the movies thus far. I thought it might be fun to post what you think are superior examples of all three versions you have experienced.

So, here's mine:

Fave Book: Goblet of Fire.
Best written I think, though I do like Half-Blood Prince as a close second. The relationship scenes do it for me in HBP, though GoF has a much tighter storyline.

Fave Audiobook: Half-Blood Prince.
The way the narrator does the voices this time completely nails it. And again, I'm a huge fan of the relationships which come to fruition in this one.

Fave Movie (Thus far): Prisoner of Azkaban.
Alfonso does such a perfect job of setting the imagery that I envision the Potterverse as, and the relationships the characters will have later set it a world apart.

Sorry for the bump, but let's just say: Most Unpopular Thread Ever!

That's right, 28 views and no replies. Mods, get rid of it! Delete, now!

Perhaps you started this thread too early? Isn't the movie still a month away?

We agree on the favorite book. The 4th is full of memorable moments.

As far as movies go, I'd say I liked the style of the third the best, but I thought that the 1st movie was the best at following the novel it was based on.

I hate the books, Movies are good thoe

are they gonna have some luv making in this movie or what?:smoking:

I HATE Harry Potter but I have to admit, the Prisoner movie looks really interesting, mainly for Gary Oldman, and the new movie looks like it might also be interesting. I'm putting off watching them because I have only seen parts of the first movie, and I don't really want to have to sit through the first two to understand what the hell is going on

I love the books (though haven't had time to get Order or Half-Blood) and the movies are pretty good too.

4th is still the best but I like how things are maturing even more in the 6th.

The movie will rock.

I've only seen the 1st and 2nd movies, never read any books. The movies are really good, though.

Yes, and now I'll hack my head off with a rusty kitchen knife, so if you hear screaming, it's just me.... hacking away.

Sorry to have to break it to you all, but harry potter sucks.

Now, now, be gentle. This thread is mainly for those who like the series, but I am interested in reasons why think Harry Potter sucks bug donkey... well, you know.

So then, reasons I do like the series then? I most particularly enjoy the wry wit of Rowlings writing style. There are times when I've LOL'd at some of the things she's written. One of my favorite moments was when Luna Lovegood commentated at a Quidditch match in Half-Blood Prince. Funny stuff.

Oh, and I appreciate how my desperate plea for attention actually attracted some posts.

I don't really like Harry Potter, but I enjoy the movies simply because they are well made.

I actually didn't care too much for the first two. The scenes in the first one during the Quidditch match make me wince a little. But yes, the third movie is notable for not only being a good HP movie, but a good movie in general. The direction was very interesting.

after watching the movies i don't see how a person who hasn't read the books could understand anything of what's going on. So books ftw, although i do enjoy the movies because i understand pretty much everything :D

Thoroughly enjoyed the books...
Favorite is Prisoner.

I abso-****ing-lutely hated the horribly acted out movies.

Favourite book: Prisoner of Azcaban
Favourite Audio book: never heard any
Favourite film: they should all burn in hell.

I don't like where the series is going. In the last 2 books I've grown to hate Harry, he's an asshole.

I hope Harry Potter burns in hell and Emma Watson becomes my sex slave

nice...

Fave book: PoA
don't listen to the books
Fave film: PoA

Well... I can get behind the second part.Wait! She's only 15!:O

*scurries away, trying to distance self from own statement*

J.K Rowling is going to hell for making people witches and wizards with her fancy smancy books.

Does anybody with testicles that have dropped really give a flying shat about this movie?

Wow, so much hate in this thread. You would think Star Wars and Lord of the Rings would be viewed in the same light if the initial audience for them was the same as it was for Harry Potter. If you have read the books and don't like them thats one thing, many people read Lord of the Rings and don't like it. However not reading them and saying they are stupid is just moronic. Who would be more mature? The one who reads them and likes them without caring what others think or the one who is too worried about what others will think of them if they read the books?

"SNAPE KILLS DUMBLEDORE!"

Wow, I thought my little thread was dead...

Anyhoo, as an update, from what I've heard the new movie is getting mostly positive reviews. Rottentomatoes.com ratings has an 85% rating. So, I personally can't wait to see it, but as a fan of the series I would see it no matter what the reviews it got. Then love or hate it as I see fit.

Wow, I did not know people on this forum were so immature... I don't even think I want to continue using this forum after hearing all your crap about HP. Why bother even posting if your just going to say something stupid.

I enjoyed the hp movies, haven't read the books.

Please! Lock my thread! Let this aborted fetus of a dead thread be buried forever!
