The first world war was a horrible, bloody mess. It was a churning bloodbath of mud and trench-footed corpses all piled in heaps and tangled in barbed wire; a war that is said to have killed off almost an entire generation. Strange, then, that we haven't yet had a game about it. Oh wait![br]In Flanders Fields is a modification based on just that war, aiming to recreate with as much realism as possible the intricacies of trench warfare and early 20th-century combat with iron sights, locational damage, climbing (gasp) instead of jumping, gas attacks, and lots and lots of artillery - a weapon which played an incredibly important role.[br][br]These screenshots show off the First Battle of Marne, and two light machine guns (another weapon that typified the Great War). You can find more screenshots, and more info, at the team's website.
