im hoping others have had this problem and found a resolution to it.

im playing away happily and then all of a sudden my weapon will switch or the silencer will go on/off and i'll keep running in the direction i last pressed (so mouse1/mouse2 or keyboard press that i was doing is still going), this happens for about 2/3 seconds and sods law, always when i run into an enemy (you may laugh now).

its nothing about the server or my ping (ping is 20-40), its definetly client related, as it used to happen with CS1.5 and CS1.6, now its occuring with Source too. I have just last week re-installed entire system from fresh so have all latest drivers, using logitech mx500 mouse and standard keyboard.

so to re-cap, its like a 3 second continuation of my last command i issued, or sometimes it just does random stuff, like my m4a1 silencer will be unscrewed and then it will select my knife and there's an AK47 pointing at me, ohhhhh what do i do now, yikes, run and jump and change to m4a1 like a mad man and hope he's a bad shot (does occasionally work). PLEASE help, mad fan of game and this has ruined my playing for years now.

pc specs:
radeon 9800
2.2 athlonxp
1gb ddr400 ram
asus mobo a7v8x
logitech mouse mx500

if you need anymore info i'll be glad to provide,

thank you fellow addicts :)

To all problems like this, I have only one answer: reinstall.
It solved all my studdering problems... so go ahead and try that.

hellllpppp

re-installing does nothing as this is the third installation of XP i have had since cs1.5 and cs1.6 and source days. has always been there.

have read all other forum entries for similar problems, no one seems to have a solution.

solution i have read about so far:
1. Disable VPU recover
2. disable anti-virus (its a new install, no AV running yet).
3. change eecutable to run like a 98/ME OS
4. try write protecting the config.cfg
5. dont use USB devices (tried with ps/2 mouse also, no difference)
6. setting fps_max and fps_modem both to 99. (not tried, dont see how it would help)
7. lowering your graphics card settings (dunno if it would help as its mouse/keyboard related problem)

anyone got a fix for this, only happens with games, and its only annoying for games where quick reactions are a must like CS.

in the past i have tried rolling back drivers, tried Oemga drivers and messed with certain CS config files, it neverm helped to make mouse/keyboard better, only got slight better ping from it.

someone?

I have that problem first 30 seconds of a game, I just stand there and wait for it to stop.
