Is it registered to your Steam account?

Call (913) 217-9309 And tell them that you lost you'r cd key and they might be able to give you a new one

I do that too

Well, you got your answer, which is to ring up/email the support desks, and they'll be able to give you another one if you bought it.

I agree, sounds fishy to me too. Besides, it's already been said in this thread, but it doesn't matter if you lost your cd-key. Once it's registered to your Steam account, it's tied to it unless you pay Valve to remove it.

It'll be registered to your steam account if you've installed it.

The CD Key comes on a sticker on the inside of the case so you can't really have lost it without first installing it unless you lost the case too before you opened it, which doesn't exactly seem likely since you didn't mention it.

Edit: sorry if it seems a little harsh

You need the cd key for the first time you register your game to your steam account. After that there's no need for it at all as your steam account will always have halflife 2 'attached' to it.

They spit on me in my home land.

rofl, I didn't notice he said he was a 'vet'.

BABY KILLER

Hmm, I bet he was trying to get people to tell him their's.

Nice try.

What does the fact that you're a vietnam vet have to do with your problem?

Well, if you registered your cd-key before, it will be always attached to your account, you don't need it anymore.

By the way: thread of the month.

Agree, it should be framed and put on the main index.
