I can't sing, but everyone keeps bitching and moaning for me to put vocals in my music.
I'd like a program that can distort and add weird effects to vocals in real time. Think Gary Numan, Skinny puppy etc

Reason has a vocoder, which can process a voice several ways, although I'm not quite sure what effects you want.

Any DAW can do that for you if it has a vocoder or other effect. I'm not sure how you would do it in realtime though, but there are indeed software vocoders out there that you can use.

Problem is with vocoders is that I would need to develop or find an effective carrier wave to process with the vocals.

I could try routing my mic through like Reason or something.

I am almost certain that Reason does not handle live sound like that.

Edit: Wait a minute... Yeah that may work.

But what about Ableton?

I wasn't ignoring you, I'm looking into it :)
I have never used it so I don't know, you tell me!

Well, in the Reason program itself, there is nothing that lets you use line or microphone inputs.

But with ReWire it may be possible to route it in, using another program like Ableton to get the signal and route that to Reason.
