I heard about them pantenting that stuff. I mean wth can they do that!? Doesn't Xbox live do all that stuff?

yeah it does. but nintendo applied for the pateint before xbox live was around. so nintendo could do 3 things
1. Nothing
2. Royalties
3. Close it down

me personaly i think they will do one of the first 2 since they could already seek money from ps and xbox from their first patent, but havent.

To be realistic, MS and Sony can easily circumvent those patents. So I don't see Nintendo attempting to strong arm then anytime soon. What's amazing here is that Nintendo is actually looking to go online.

Ugh, I really hate patents so much. Legal monopolies are so stupid.
In other news, Nintendo patented GBA emulators a while ago. Kind of funny imo, but it didn't seem to stop rom sites.

If they prevent Microsoft and Sony from doing big things with their online features then my opinion of Nintendo will hit rock bottom.
