Incoming Source is back with a media update. It’s been a little bit since we’ve done a weekly update, and this one will make up for that! Over 40 images along with 2 videos as well as 4 soundtracks. We are proud to be back with a bang and hope you enjoy it as well.

A lot has happened in the development world of Incoming Source as of lately. We have been cranking and cranking on getting material done as well as a very nice gameplay build (version 1.0.1a) for internal testing use. Some key features in this build include:
5 weapons / iron sights / scopes / melee attacks / weapon fire modes / 4 maps / bots / damage shaders / HUD / radar / recoil / w_models as well as many other features including our human player model and we are soon adding the Altair Warrior player model for the other team.

Development is going great, our Lead Programmer, Nokia is working his butt off making things work and making me, Praz smile. Maps are underway, including inm_vast and inm_krubera by our two amazing mappers, thecraftsman and JeanPaul. 3 weapon models are ready for texturing, one being the FNC30 which is underway by our over-worked but lovely, VertThrasher. Animations for 3 weapons are being developed by Mix_Tape, mike-r, and Eggeh and Vehicle models and Dinosaur models are being rigged by our insane Tessai. He is also doing the basic player animations for vehicle use. Our Lead Audio Developer, Ben (a.k.a HalfNoise) is working on a soundtrack for use in our city environments as well as doing Dinosaur sounds, ambience, as well as footsteps and bullet hits. Unclebob is currently working on music soundtracks, a few of which you can download in this media update. They are incredible. Concepts are being completed by myself along with our new Lead Concept Artist, Chris, a.k.a Panhead. Four concepts are included in this weekly update, all of which are very well done. And that is just a basic summary as to what’s going on behind the iSource doors. There is much more, but I think its time that we focus on getting to the media (which you are all here for anyways) a bit quicker!

Now some video footage.

First off, we are presenting a new weapon preview video. In this video we showcase both renders as well as video animation and audio effects for the Human's futuristic equivalent for the sub machine gun, the mx4.
Modeled by waedoe, textured by VertThrasher and animated by none other than our amazing Mix_Tape, here it is:

Next we have the video demonstration of JeanPaul's wonderful new map, inm_krubera. It takes place in a cavern which also includes structures within the cavern as well as an outside portion of the map. Take a gander and let us know what you think!

As well as that video, we are also showcasing inm_krubera map preview video. The map has been created by our one and only, JeanPaul. It takes place in a dense and dark caverns. It features both in-cave segments as well as structures located inside the cave as well as an outside portion. It’s an amazing map, download it and give your own feedback on our forums.

As well as the video footage, we have audio files as well thanks to Ben (a.k.a HalfNoise) as well as Unclebob. We are releasing two brand new soundtracks that can be found on our Files page, as well as the following links:

Interesting.

I like the concept art.

Looks amazing. The best hl2 mod currently in development!

I still don't understand why there are dinosaurs..

If you understand how and why dinosaurs came to being on Earth, you understand very well why they are on Orion.

Oh yes baby, nice work guys, keep the good work going.....

Solid music production. I like them all but I love Alpha (reminds me of Prodigy) What software package does your sound guy use?

Wow, just heard Vanishing Point, towards the middle that song gets pretty cool (goes slightly Aphex Twin/Mr. Han).

Listened to the radio interview, for anyone who wants to have a 17 minute low-down on what INM is about it's worth a listen. Praz also talks indirectly about some tips for larger Mod projects (utilities for coders to work together on projects)

This is awwwesome! And there's a level based on Krubera, the largest known cave in the world? Sick!
