Squad based action-RPG apparently. By BioWare, trilogy planned to be released over 5+ years.

BioWare plans to release Mass Effect in one to one-and-a-half years.

As to which systems it will be on, BioWare was diplomatic. "Right now the game is on 360, but you know, Microsoft is a very PC-centric company. I don't know what will happen in the future, but for right now, it's just Xbox 360." Many years in the videogame industry lead me to think that this answer, while purposefully vague, means there very well might be a PC version just around the corner. Don't be surprised if the PC version comes out sometime well after the Xbox 360 version.

I guess if you like the look of this that news is pretty fabulous.

The last screenshot looks great, but the first 2 are meh. Still, screenshots don't do very much for me. If you really want to get a feel for a game, you have to see a video of it in action. If that last screenshot is in-game with a fps of 60 or so, then I am extremely excited and impressed.

Yeah, but Bioware's got a pretty good track record with porting to the PC. KOTOR I & II transfered pretty well.

And Final Fantasy was a movie, sot the fact that its being compared is pretty good.
