Indiana Jones Canned

They should make a new Indiana Jones Adventure game instead, or a new Monkey Island that goes back to the 2D roots.
 
I am not entirely going to believe this until official word comes from Lucas himself. Joystiq posted this:

IGN is reporting that the internally developed Indiana Jones title for the PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360 has been canceled. But when asked by Joystiq if that was indeed the case, LucasArts seemed to say that it wasn't.

"LucasArts remains absolutely committed to the Indiana Jones franchise," said a LucasArts representative. "While we are aware that fans have been eagerly awaiting additional information on the upcoming game, they can rest assured that details are forthcoming."

Not exactly a definitive answer, since they said they were still committed to the franchise rather than the game. And those additional details could be a new trailer, or confirmation that the game is indeed dead. Let's hope it's the former.

AGREED 100000000%!!!!! Well, a new Monkey Island would best be handled by Ron Gilbert, so rather...

this really sucks. Lucasarts has really nowhere to go but up at this point because they havent produced a decent game in god knows how long. I mean lucasarts is trumped by a small developer creating lego based on their properties, how pathetic is that? if I want the definative indiana jones or star wars experience I'm best served by a lego game aimed at kids. the entire team of higher ups who make decisions for the company need to be replaced by people who actually know what the **** they're doing
 
Wasn't this the game with the revolutionary physics?

And what Stern says: it's laughable that a once great gaming company is reduced to leasing out franchises.
 
They've been beaten to the punch with the adaptive animation system anyway, and that seemed to be the only thing going for it.

Good riddance.
 
It's the game with revolutionary physics that GTA4 and The Force Unleashed have both used. So they're not that revolutionary any more.
 
If you guys want real Indy adventure fun, you can at least play this and the demo for Indiana Jones and the Fountain of Youth. Very good fan-made stuff.

I would have. I am a sucker for just about anything Indiana Jones-related. And really, they have not made a truly bad Indiana Jones game yet--just some that could have been better....
 
Dang. I thought Emperor's Tomb was really fun, so I was still interested in this game happening. Oh well... Maybe they'll make a better one since kids are still in love with Indy. I mean how could they not, it's George Lucas...

New monkey island 2d stylee would be awesome!
