Hello, just a random thread to show off various work I've done in my spare time. Hoping for some feedback, some likes and dislikes, and uh the like. ;)

Nuke_Noodle_Splash.jpg

This is a concept for a what a game developer's logo may look like.

Male_Cop_F-S.jpg

Quick and dirty model sheet I did recently, based off an anatomy reference I found online. (if someone wants to attempt to model this, its perfectly fine by me... But if you publish it in a mod or something please give me some credit :) )

More to come...

Alright damn it... I've been patient enough, someone reply already :)

that's pretty god work there, Innervision. Try to tighten up your lines a bit, it's look a little sketchy ..especially the top one. ...my advice is to sketch it first with a pencil (or blueline pen - blue pencil crayon used in animation) then go over it with ink - it trains you to have a steady hand and also cuts down on mistakes because once you've put ink on paper there's no turning back.

the text can also be lived up a bit ..the red "noodle" text isnt all that visible, try yellow or a lighter colour.

btw these are just suggestions, disregard them if you dont agree :E

the skull would make a great tattoo btw :)

is that a turkish flag on his chest?
btw nice work there.

Yeah, it would make a good tatoo, but I think it might be a tad too complicated for a company logo.

With three different fonts and a very detailed drawing, it's not exactly the Nike swoosh, if you get my meaning.

The detailed approach works a lot better for the concept model sheet, I think. It's very solid anatomically, with my only pointer being that his feet are a bit flat.
Well, that and he's kinda "average Joe Goodguy". :P

ah thank you guys... Just what I was hoping for :)
To Stern:
The top one was all done on a wacom, but yes I should have tightened up my lines more, I was just in a hurry, and agreed on the text, I just wanted something to fill the space. I didn't really start with a concept, I just went at it.

To Mayfer:
Yes, i think it is the Turkey flag design on his chest, but I thought it looked cool :) (thanks for the compliment)

To MechaG:
Dually noted on the nike swoosh-a-mabob... I see what you mean.
And yes also, very average joe on the concept. :)
Thanks for replying guys. I was getting worried there for a bit.

that's pretty good if you just banged it out on a wacom

btw can you give me some info on the wacom tablet? I'm think of geting one and I'm curious as to what your impressions are ..what app do you use it with? photoshop? painter? which is better for the tablet? I'm thinking of getting the cheaper one, not the intuos

You wanna talk to Fender, he got a Graphire a few weeks ago, is having lots of fun with it too.

fender? never met him, does he frequent this forum? ...you have the intuos, right? I also seem to remember you have/had another wacom. What are you impressions ..remember I've been using photoshop for at least 7 years with a mouse and keyboard ..how much of improvement/difference is there from a tablet to the traditional way of doing things. BTW why do so many 3d artists use one? I've never been able to justify buying a tablet as I can't see it's uses beyond that of a hobby ...probablly because I spend more time creating quick designs rather than creating full blown illustrations

It's worth it.. not to mention a Wacom can survive a heavy table lamp from falling on the surface from four feet up :)

If your unsure about one, get a graphire, only get an intuos if your serious about it and know you'll be using it all the time. I got a dirt cheap one to practice on for a year before deciding I wanted the intuos.

A tablet just feels more natural than a mouse when you get used to it, not just for drawing with but all sorts, feels quicker too.

I was going to buy a small cheap one - $100 but I figured I might as well get one that I would be comfortable using

ya I gotta try one out before I buy. Thanks for the advice :)

I got a wacom graphire 3 I believe stern, 200 bucks maybe. i'll tell you, honestly, I didn't like it at first. Couldn't seem to get used to it, but man oh man, I couldn't live without it now. It kind of sat here and collected dust for a while and one day, I just said screw it, and kept drawing and drawing with it until it became comfortable, now I'll never go back! Definately get one my friend, well worth if you even remotely love to draw and paint.

BTW I use photoshop mostly, but the tablet came with painter or something, can't really get used to the way the tools are set up in that program though, so i just stick to good ol' photoshop 7.

Ya I've been using photoshop for a long time now so i dont think I'll use painter, even though I used it for awhile when it was owned by another company and came packaged in a paint can ...long time ago, 6-7 years ago. I'm probablly picking a graphire up but it'll be more of a hobby than anything else as I havent created a comercial illustration in a few years ...mostly my illustration is done in Illustrator ..mostly because you just cant get a certain look with photoshop
