Simple enough, would you support a single player only release of Half-Life 2 (which would be released sometime between now and the end of Holidays 2003) and sacrifice multiplayer functionality, which would be made available at a later date.

Heck yes I would! I play the game for the storyline anyway ;)

i'd rather wait for the version valve intended me to play.

At this point, I'll take the damm Benchmark!

Of course we would take a Single Player Only release! - but they better drop the price to $39.99, because a 20 hour FPS game with no multiplayer hasn't got much replay value...

Team Fortress 2 would have to be an Expansion, or a free download.

I prefer waiting for the complete version and acquiring the game complete. But what they could do is release a little single player demo whilst the game is completed. Just to let us taste it. It could take a little single player and a little multiplayer in case that multiplayer hasn't been finished yet.

They really should release game demos though they don't want to and I think they will not :/

Well, I hope if they do release a single player demo - it's of Traptown!

I think Traptown will be the coolest level. Trying to find all the hidden traps to kill the mutants/aliens...

I votet no.

You should have clarified if I would get MultiPlayer included in my SP purchase or not. You should perhaps have had 3 alternatives, No, Yes and Yes, if MP is included without additional cost.

The poll is also vague, it is obvious from context that he means a single player release before a full release. But existing information from valve point to the fact that they planed a SP only release concurrent with the full release anyway.

So the pole should read do you support:

A SP only release before a full release with no MP entitlement.
A SP only release before a full release with MP included when it's done.
A SP only release concurrent with a full release.
No SP only release at all.

i don't even want to play MP really... just give me SP!

BUT: i don't think SP is done either?

it wasn't that bad when q2 did it, so i don't see why they couldn't do it here, especially considering the circumstances.

i wasnt planning to play much MP anyway. MP didnt work for me on HL or CS, im not getting my hopes up for HL2

Yeah that would be fine. I'd like to play single player before MP anyway...

If it was under an agreement that people who bought it would get a discount when the "complete package" was finnished. Yes.

Otherwise, no.

I can wait for the real deal. I wouldn't want to have to upgrade or anything. It'll come out when it comes out. In the mean time I'll get like a month ahead of all my school work so when it does come out I won't fail my classes:cool:

I would love a demo if the game were to be released next year.. if not, then just try to release all at once.

Yes.

Singleplayer is a complete game you nuts. Then, after you've finished that, perhaps the multiplayer will be ready.

I'm hyped on the single player story experience, I know that most FPS games get multiplayer either out of the box or at some time in the future, but I can wait for those.

I'll take my time savouring the feel of the SP game first, I don't understand people that rush out, buy the game only to complete it a day or two later.
