He told the magazine one of his most important memories of the show as a child was when viewers saw what was inside the casing of the doctor's arch-enemies, the Daleks.

"This great, cold steel instrument of destruction, all that casing, all that armour, is actually to protect this very vulnerable, strange, frightened creature," he said.

Does anyone have any pictures of this? I can't find one at all.

No, depending on the time period (They keep mutating), it's either a stunted humanoid, a froglike creature, a disembodied and deformed head (That was actually an artificial Dalek made by Davros), a crab-looking thing, a ball of tentacles, or a protoplasmic blob.

All you saw of them in the first storyline was a grey claw (later greenish in the colour episodes?). The Doctor and his helper opened one up before performing the usual prisoner-in-disguise thing -- they looked a little disgusted before covering the dalek up with some cloth and lifting it out to dump it on the floor. Then the claw appeared from under the piece of cloth... OOoooooOOOooooOOOoohhHHHHhhhhh... scary.

I used to love Dr Who though, it was so corny but so fun.

Lies! I have been inside a dalek. No, really. It's just wires and stuff -and a scary microphone that changes your voice. It was in a museum...so there I am shouting "Give up now or I'll crush you like a grabe!" and "You fight like a cow!" at passers by from inside the cold metal shell of a Dalek.

I love Doc Who.
