install problem

i tyr to install half life 2 but when i run teh setup, but it wont let me click next, or cancell or the X in teh top rigth corner
windows says its still responsive and i can minimize it , but it wont le t me continue the install.............help?

What screen does this happen on? What does it say in the Window it freezes at?
