i'm trying to install HL2 and it's being a big pain in the ass.
i put in disc 1 and it does it's thing. then it asks for cd 2, ok so far so good.
but there's a problem when i put in cd 2. i sit there watching the loading bar move across for like an hour, then a message comes up saying to make sure
C:\Program Files\Valve\Steam\SteamApps\half-life 2 base content.gcf
exists. and sure enough i go to the folder and it's clearly there where it is supposed to be, so i click retry. then the little loading bar moves across for another hour or so and just gives me the error again. it's really annoying. does anyone know what's up?
