First off, I just installed a FX5200 on my brother's comp.

He has a Dell, with Intel Integrated Graphics, no AGP slot. Now, I installed it and all of the drivers, but it does not want to switch from the 'Extreme' Graphics to the 5200. When I uninstall the Intel drivers, and I restart the comp, it just automagically installs it again. Also, I disabled the Extreme Graphics, and it still doesn't work. Somehow.

An error said 'device will not turn on, or something'

I know the card is working, because I get the driver screen, and I can use the monitor slot as a secondary monitor.

Helpz0r.

My friend had the same problem with his 5200 and integrated graphics, and we still haven't figuired it out. So we came to a conclusion.

Mobo's w/integrated graphics + graphics cards = not gonna work.

you will have to go into the bios and either disable onboard video, or set display init to pci/agp

Erm, I believe Dell mobos don't even have a BIOS, or a very limited one, but I'm gonna try it.

My very old dell had the ability to turn off the shitty integrated graphics so i doubt it has changed.

You have to have a bios. That fact is non-negotiable.

Thanks, it worked.

Sweet, Had this problem with my Computer Illeterate friend, that thinks he can run doom3 on his integrated gfx card. I told him i would sell him my old fx5200 for 70 bucks :E . (told him he might be able to play doom 3 now.. (haha). But i couldnt get it to work properly, so now I can go and rip someone off.
