Ok, I got a new computer and it work. Now I take the burner from my old computer and put in in the new, connect it like it says in the manual. But before I even get to the windows loading screen I get this message:

DISK BOOT FAILURE, INSERT SYSTEM DISK AND PRESS ENTER.

This only happens when I have both my DVD drive and Burner connected. If I unplug one of them, Windows works fine with burner or DVD.

Any help.

Both drives might be set to master. I Have never had to install more then one IDE drive before but I think if you set one to master and one to slave it should be ok.

Do I need to go into the setup manu for that (pressing delete when start-up) because I have tried a lot of different connections (including the one described above).

In addition to that, the message above is caused by my computer not being able to find the hard-drive when the two CD-Roms are plugged in. As soon as I unplug one, it can find it again.

Even funnier, if it does recognize the Hard Driver, it does not recognize the two CD drivers :)

If they share an IDE cable, one must be master and another must be slave.
Go into bios and redetect them once you have setup the jumpers and connected the cables.
If it doesn't work, try switching the optical drives around.

Make sure you are not reading the diagram, on the top of the drive for master/slave, upsidedown.

Ok, I have the Hard Drive on Primary Master; the CD Burner on Secondary Master and DVD on Secondary Slave. I go into the bios and it can only detect the DVD, I go into windows and it can only detect the DVD. I've tried switching them around. Could it be that my bios need updating and if yes, I have a ASUS P4S800 and how the hell do I update them.

I dont think it is your bios, but it might be. Just go to asus's website and download the bios and it will have the instructions with it.
Im just wondering though. Are all the optical drives on the same IDE cable or do they have sepparate ones. And same thing with the hard drive is it sharing any IDE cables with the optical drives. That would help if we knew.

Hard Drive is on the Prime IDE cable and the optical drivers are on the Secondary IDE cable (I've tried switching them around, but either I get no hardrive, or one of the optical drives can't be found, or both optical drivers can't be found).

Well I got an old IBM from my dads work that I would hate to take apart right now but its got a DVD drive, CD-RW drive, and a hard drive and they all work together fine.

So I will see if I can help you without taking my dads computer appart.
1)Your dvd drive should be on Dual (slave)
2)Your dvd burner should be on Dual (master)
3)Put your hard drive an a sepparate IDE cable and make that a Single

Your burner should always be master (I have no idea why its just what I was told)

If that doesnt work then I can just take appart my old computer.

Oh and did you install the drivers for your Burner because if you didnt install the drivers that's probably your problem.
