Installing Source on more than one PC

Hi,

in addition to my gameing PC i have a portabel PC. I want to install and play CS Source on both. Can I do this with the same lisense number... should work if I dont use both computers at the same time. Should it not?

Sorry, but it won't work. If you log into steam on the portable machine, you can download CSS and HL2 etc, but you can only use it on one machine at a time.

I may have been unclear. I will use only one PC at a time... so I should in other words be "home free" using one PC at a time.

Sorry, yes, I misunderstood.

One of the major points of steam is that if you own a game, you can play it on any PC just by logging on. So yes, just log into steam on your portable and it will stream what you need to play. You will have to log off of your desktop first through.

actually, you don't. Your desktop will be kicked if you log in on the laptop.

and then your laptop will be kicked if you log in with the desktop later on.

that way you can't get stuck without access (if you used the desktop and then reformatted it without logging out first...)
