Insurgents even try to blow up Ambulance Helos

Did you really just make a thread to call CptStern out and imply that he supports what terrorists and insurgents do?

Idiot.

lol american evil infidel helicopter was almost owned, yalla yalla inshallah

**** the ****ing whiners.

Does anyone else find it ironic that the soldiers are not actually talking about "anti war" people, they are talking about jackasses who are like "omg war is ****ing rad and i would kill em all!" and then it's turned into an attack on people who don't support the war.

Must be the conservative rose tinted glasses.

A military ambulance is a legitimate target if you support the right of the Iraqi people to fight the US army in Iraq.

don't know why I'm wasting my time even dignifying this tripe with a response but attacking a military ambulance is not a legitimate target under the geneva convention.

now surely if you believe the insurgents deserve to be treated under the geneva convention then why the hell don't military ambulances?!

here's a quick bit of history

The document established rules for the treatment of the wounded and
prisoners of war. The original 10-article conventions pegged ambulances,
hospitals and hospital staff as neutral and made provisions for health-care
personnel to continue tending to the sick during wartime without fear of
attack by military personnel.

It set rules for the care of wounded soldiers, including safely transporting
them out of the battle arena. The conventions also established the red cross as the universal symbol for neutrality for hospitals, ambulances and persons being evacuated from the battleground. Though governments are responsible for enforcing the law, the conventions give the Red Cross alone permission to carry out relief activities in armed conflicts.

*edit* also Iraq ratified(sp?) the Geneva convention in 1956

no,I know better then to say he support Insurgents,he doesn't
But he's being a hypocrite about many things.

thats a pitiful answer for as equal a man solaris. do you or do you not stand by your previous statement? If you do then do you agree that the insurgents should not fall under the protection of the geneva convention?

if you do not stand by your previous statement then why the hell did you say it?

Insurgents blowing up ambulance helicopters=bad.
The whole war=bad.

Thread=solved.

no it's not ..all medical units are exempt from any sort of attack by international law ..the right of attacking occupying forces does not extend to medical personnel ...but this issue is redundant because terrorists/insurgents do not recognize any authority but their own; it still doesnt give them the moral right to attack medical personnel

aetema first of all the video tells you absolutely nothing, that could have been insurgents, that could have been terrorists, that could have been a neighbour pissed at being disturbed from his afternoon siesta ..you dont even know if they even identified their target as a medical unit, I had to squint to see the red cross ..was it even in iraq? afghanistan? perhaps it was haiti, or some other god forsaken place ..so lets examine exactly what it is you've given us: shakey cam of what looks like some dusty little town somewhere in the world that may or may not have people looking to kill medical personel

..but by all means walk around all cocksure of yourself thinking you've won some moral victory because it's that much more enjoyable when you inevitably make an ass of yourself

Im sorry I didnt think it was going piss you off.

That was stupid of me..let me edit my first post.

Unfortunately, that's.... life.

Bastards want to blow up ambulances, will get hellfire (missles) raining down on them sooner or later.

I suppose it's not a legitimate target, I retract my statement. However, all the same, that chopper was supporting the occupation, so I can see why people would shoot at it.

But no, I apologize for my previous remark, however, it would be wrong to use that video like lemonking has done as if it proves the insurgency are all evil and the Coalition are justified in what they do. The Coalition are the only conventional force in this conflict and should set an example.

They haven't and so similar tactics in response although immoral are inevitable in this kind of conflict.
