i was watching the Leaf game tonite and between intermissions was watching the biography on Pete Rose and when him being in the news lately (finally admitting that he bet on baseball) got me thinking about integrity..

i've heard enough analysts say that Rose admitting this was 10 years too late (in case u do not know, betting on baseball while being in it professionally is a big no-no).. and on top of that, he didn't even apoligize or feel remorseful about it.. which leads some pple to believe that hes only admitting this so he can get into the hall of fame and probably back into baseball as well..

even the timing of releasing his book in which he admits to betting on baseball is way off (it was last week) when Paul Molitor and Denis Eckersely were inducted into the baseball hall of fame.. the least Rose could have done is release his book a few weeks before or after the week of induction ceramonies.. now in the baseball world this Pete Rose business undermines the 2 great players that should have been talked about.. but instead we have pple wondering what kind of stunt Rose pulled off this time..

in the real world, if u lose ur integrity, u pretty much lose ur job.. but because its Pete Rose, he can stay in the media as much as he wants.. with books, videos, his cards.. whatever.

i got 2 questions for u guys

what does integrity mean to u?
Should Rose be allowed into the hall of fame and back into baseball?

Would the value of his baseball cards go up if he's in the Hall of Fame? If so, then I say "Hell yes!". :D

u didn't even answer the 2 questions i asked.. bahh.

does it matter if the value of his baseball cards goes up? i thought that even sports had integrity.. maybe its silly of me to think that..

I do not think he should be allowed into the Baseball Hall of Fame.

BTW: Integrity is both open-honesty, and loyalty...to me at least.

agreed :)

in Pete Rose's case, hasn't been honest and nor loyal.. so the conclusion u came to is logical enough for me.

there are plenty of people like pete rose in the hall of fame...i think he should be allowed into the hall of fame, but not allowed any other affilitation with baseball...and whatever is in the hall of fame should indicate what he did...good and bad.

hiding pete rose won't help baseball...that's like writing a history book but leaving wars out because they were bad.

Not only that but remaining consistent.

I have no idea who this guy is, so my comments dont mean much but from the few posts i have to base my opinion on, he just sounds like another person trying to make money...which in its self isnt bad, but the way one goes about it could be better.

I just said that because I have a couple of old Pete Rose cards sitting around here somewhere...

Baseball? Isnt that just rounders but for men. Why cant u like normal sports like erm whatst the sport when you have cars that shoot each other with nukes and stuff
