Intel Penryn Quad Core Launch Date and pricing

Intel has set a launch date for its pricey Quad-Core "Penryn" line up for Nov. 11th. Here's what you can expect to pay before mark up:

X5460 3.16 GHz $1,172
E5450 3.00 GHz $851
E5440 2.83 GHz $690
E5430 2.66 GHz $455
E5420 2.50 GHz $316
E5410 2.33 GHz $256
E5405 2.00 GHz $209

I'd love to see benchmarks in comparison to the quad cores already available which are currently much cheaper

I don't think $209 isn't that bad for a quad core... Plus, aren't they giving each core a proper amount of FSB now instead of having 4 cores share 2 cores worth of FSB?

That's the server family. I wonder when they will announce something for the rest of us.

256,- for a 2.33 Ghz zouds great. You can probably easily overclock it to 3ghz, and it's only 45nm, so less heat and wattage use.
Just hope for AMD they can get something good out too.

wow, 12MB of L2 cache... D: And yes, as Nabobalis noted, these are Xeon chips, not Core2.
