Interesting stuff about John Titot

why's no one replying? anyways, that's pretty interesting, but i have no clue who "buzz" or "mal" or "pamela" are... so i dunno what the relevance of any of that is. means titor is a fake???
 
I read through the thread, and although it's interesting, it's hardly proof of anything. The whole John Titor thing is an obvious fake anyway. This guy is spending way to much time on this from the looks of it :)
 
It doesn't out right mean he is a fake, just means he has a secondary account that he frequented the forums with. Which IMO means he was a fake.
 
i agreed that he's very likely a fake, but who's to say that there aren't time travellers out there amongst us right now?

no, i don't believe that malarchy about not being able to travel before the time a time machine was invented. a friend of mine that thought he was clever tried to prove that to me... just doesn't work. "we can't go back in time before the time machine was invented, because if you go back to that time... THE TIME MACHINE WASN'T INVENTED YET SO YOU CAN'T!!"

although my friend's reasoning was more clever than that.. "you walk into the time machine, flip the switch to go backwards... and then you find yourself flipping the switch, and walking out of the time machine" no, sorry *laughs*. anyways, there COULD be time travellers here, now.

Oh for Christ sake, if he really was a time-traveler, he would do something else, than create crappy looking webpage and post it on internet. Even if there is a guy somewhere, who has the same damn name and writes all this crap, who to say he is not mentally ill? How many doomsayers did you guys see in your life? I see them everyday, on the streets of San Francisco. Yesterday, for example, little old Asian dude ran up to me with a sign “Tomorrow is the end of the world” and started to say something in Chinese. Yeah, there you go, we are not dead yet.

Point is, without any prove you won’t get anything accomplished and will be treated as delusional dimwit. I mean, half of you don’t believe in Bible, but you can argue that same events are happening and second coming of Jesus is almost here.

Here is proposition for all of you believers, why don’t you start damn Titor cult and worship him, as a man from future. Because everything you read on internet is true.

Yeah the whole John Titor story certainly is interesting. When I first learned of it, I did as much research on Titor as I possibly could, and eventually came to the conclusion that he/she is a fraud. That's just my opinion after reading as much as I could, I guess some people still believe.


Some of the things that caught my attention:

--John Titor would not state any specific information proving he had knowledge of the future.

--John Titor's "time machine" supposedly weighed 500 lbs. (if my memory serves me correctly). How he would fit this machine into a functioning vehicle( I believe he had a corvette and then a light truck) like he claims is beyond me.

--The radiation from his time machine would have killed him (Theory of Hawking radiation).

--I have read from a couple different places that the pictures of his time machine were really 60's era radiation-detection equipment. Unfortunately I never could find pictures or info that would corroborate these claims.

--Let me get this straight - An advanced civilization, capable of time travel no-less, springs up from a nuclear world war? Umm.....no.

--I can't remember exactly his reasoning for his time travel, but it had something to do with collecting computer equipment that was unaffected by some kind of software glitch. The idea that they can build time machines but not correct minor coding errors is ridiculous.

--Then there's the idea that a time traveller would be able to post on an internet forum at his leisure. Why - So he can give us hints into the horrible future, which according to him we may or may not be able to change wether we do anything or not.

That's all I can think of off the top of my head, I'm sure there are dozens more.
 
The only thing that freaks me about about John Titor is his so-called prediction of an impending civil war, due to political instability of the 2004 election. This upcoming election is already turning ugly through television advertisements and political speeches, and we are still months away from voting.

My friend also pointed out that there are essentially two distinct Americans nowadays: liberals and conservatives, democrats and republicans. These two groups (or poltical alignments, if you will) have grown so dissimilar in their beliefs and ideals and both are too stubborn and unyielding to bother with compromise. It's almost plausible for another American civil war to ensue.

I'm not saying I believe the JT man, but it's certainly something to consider..
 
According to this 'Titor' chap, there will be no further olympics after 2004.
So, just wait 'till 2006.
 
He said the civil war will start with a series of Waco-type events following the 2004 election. If he isn't a fake, then we will know as early as late 2004/2005.

Yes, this sh!t is unbelievable, but what's even more sad is that a lot of our fellow members still refer to him in related threads such as global warming threads, they just say that John Titor is right and global warming won't be our demise but the "civil" war will. :upstare:

The United States has just about the most stable form of government the world has ever known. Regardless of what you think about Bush, Rumsfield, Ashcroft, their politics, the Patriot Act and whatnot, there isn't going to be a ****ing civil war. The man is not going to sieze power even if he does lose the election, which he will almost surely win. The chances of this happening are so close to zero I feel like a moron even commenting on it. I seriously can't believe there are people who believe this fairy tale!

This seems more subjective than anything else. I agree that America is the most stable government than any other in the world, but you can't deny the fact that we are a divided people when it comes to the question of how this country should deal with the economy and foreign policy. A lot can change in a year, and you can't control what the government does.

I'm not defending the authenticity of John Titor, nor am I refuting it. I'm talking about the idea of an American civil war.

"The man is not going to sieze power even if he does lose the election, which he will almost surely win."

That line is enough to make be disregard your further posts. Are you talking about Bush or Kerry? What makes you think this person will "almost surely win"?
 
John Titor makes his story sound like there are no such things as countries in the future but yet he goes on how there will be Russia bombing U.S.

John Titor makes it seem that there aren't any nations and probably united under on government. Then he talks about World War III breaking out after !
It obviously sounds like he's desperate for attention and is cleary making up stories.

Yes, America is divided. This is not the first time this has been the case. The Vietnam War era was FAR more divisive than today, oh and we had a CRIMINAL for president toward the end of it. The US didn't fall apart then and I will guarantee you we'll make it through this. Come to think of it, the natural state of our country is to be divided. This is why we have a 2 party system, to encourage national debate. The last 2 times our country was wholly united were probably the few months right after 9-11 and fifty years ago during World War 2. Sure, the national discourse has gotten less civil, a little more crude, in the past few decades but this does not change the point. Differing points of view is what this country was founded on and is nothing new.

You actually think there is a chance that Bush is going to form a secret police force and go around kicking in the doors of suburban America as Titor claims? Get a grip man! There are limits on the executive branch's power, they're called "checks," (perhaps you heard about them in 3rd grade?) No one would stand for it, the president would be immediately arrested. Oh and I was refering to Bush earlier when I said "the man is not going to sieze power." And yes, I think he has a better chance of winning he 2004 election than Kerry, but it could certainly turn out differently.

Do you have so little faith in the strength and sanity of Americans that we would allow a civil war to occur without rhyme or reason? Maybe I should disregard YOUR further posts.
 
I could see some anti-war liberals getting pissed off at Bush starting a bunch of Waco's, so not too of an unbelivable story. I could also see a bunch of gun nuts going insane over somthing dumb that pussy Kerry would do.
 
Saying that the current political situation is a sign that Titor may be correct is silly. There has been and there always will be tension between the major contendors for the presidency.

Sure, some election years are more civil than others. Sometimes one candidate rolls right over another, winning in a landslide. But when it's a close race you can bet the candidates will do what it takes to win. This is when things get dirty, yeah it's happening right now but it's not the first time.

If Bush is re-elected, some people will be angry. If Kerry is elected, some people will be angry. I remember in 2000, during the whole Florida thing, Democrats were saying there would be hell to pay if Gore didn't win. I guess they got over it.

The next election will pass, there will be no civil war, and the only people who still believe in John Titor will be in their bomb shelters with a ten year supply of canned beans.

I like that idea as well. And I take comfort in the fact that the real ones aren't wasting their time posting on conspiracy theory message boards. Didn't Titor's military commanders talk to him about not screwing with the past, potentially contaminating the space/time continuum?

Hasn't John Titor ever seen Back to the Future?!?!
