We all know about Prey, right? That's where I first had the ability to create "portals". It seems Valve got the idea from Prey and implemented it into its own game.

What do you think?

Portal introduces a fascinating method of gameplay. It was cheerful, funny, then creepy and funny.
Very challenging, requiring a lot of patience too.
Creativity and thinking ouside-the-box.

What is Aperture's connection with Black Mesa?
I also read that Portal is linked to Half-Life 2: Episode Three. Can anyone else confirm this?

Where does the name "Chell" come from? I did not see or hear this in the game.

Finally, here are some interesting screenshots I took during the game:

Does anyone else have different screenshots to add?

Portal is a spiritual sequel to Narbacular Drop; a game that was around before Prey. Or rather before Prey had the Portal concept, seeing as Prey was first announced in 1997. :hmph:

Chell I assume is the name given to the model like G-man is given to... G-man. It's just so that a nameless character has a name that both the fan community and the developers can adopt.

Yeah, as mentioned, the idea behind Portal came years before Prey used it. Portal also did a hell of a lot more with it.

They were competing for (governmental?) funding, but Black Mesa won out. Why the hell did you ask that when you took a picture that clearly shows it?

I haven't beaten Episode 2 yet, so I may be wrong, but from what I've seen around, Episode 3 will put you in touch with the Borealis ship, which was cut from the original Half-Life 2. Apparently the ship was property of Aperture Science and may even contain another GLaDOS on board.

The model the character is based on is listed in the credits with the name.
