Microsoft have released a public beta of Internet Explorer 7. It weighs in at 11MB, is for Windows XP SP2 only, and before you can successfully install it you will have to validate your copy of Windows. For the most part since this is a public beta "preview", it should run well enough to be used by most people. However since it is a beta, if Internet Explorer is your primary (or only) browser, you may want to avoid it.

well it looks different :/
its got addons (re extensions), tabs and not much else
its like a less sleek firefox - i'll keep using it for a while anyway

edit/update: its bloody sluggish, takes it a few seconds sometimes to switch between tabs, loads pages slooooooowly too

i still perfer firefox over that well thats intil there is one for vista

I've been using it for some time at work. I like it.

I dont think it can hold a candle to Firefox by looking at it..but ya never know.VIVA LA FOX!

I've had IE7 for a while, but this new version looks a lot prettier. And at last! It has a stop button! :D

and before you can successfully install it you will have to validate your copy of Windows

err, i think i might give his a miss then

EDIT: Just tried it.

Horrible UI.

Doesn't even have the latest CSS standards. Basically this means you'll still need Firefox to view websites properly if they're not made using tables.

Looks like you can't uninstall since it's still integrated into the OS.

What a piece of crap. If you use Firefox then please don't even bother with this.

This is the first public beta, I believe.

I believe the version you're referring to may be the leaked one that's been leaking out of the various Vista builds.

This beta 2 is very good. It's actually considerably different from the version that was in the last Vista beta build. Definitely worth a look.

I'll still use Firefox, but I've got to hand it to Microsoft.

Their Windows LiveMail beta is pretty cool too.
