Internet Explorer is acting weird

Ok, so I have this weird problem with my internet explorer that makes things go stupid. Here is a screenshot to show you what I mean:

It's something that only happens once in a while. Sometimes it's there, 10 minutes later it's not. I've figured out that it has something to do with flash, but I can't get anywhere near the flash site becuase it ends up loading like my gmail page except with 100x more gibberish.

How can I get a direct link to re-download flash?

EDIT: It's not flash. I think it has something to do with Java since I recently had to install all this Java non-sense for my computer science class.

Any clue on how to fix it? Anyone?

Uninstall the java non-sense for your computer science class?

But really there could be compatibility issues with the site and what java you are using. There is MS Java and Sun Java. Could try to install the newest MS java over what you have. Or try Sun's.

I updated my current Sun Java, but it's still all messed up. I haven't tried looking for the Microsoft version of Java, but didn't they discontinue it a while back?

Anyway....even when running in IE safe mode with no add-ons, I still get those "BBBBBBBBBBB"s and the randomness in my Gmail page. Also, doing a google image search procuduces those random characters as well.

EDIT: Ok, so I know for a fact it's not Java either. Even downloading Firefox didn't work. As a matter of fact it's worse through Firefox.
