Interplay got owned.

damnit, i hope another publisher picks up kingpin 2

Interplay published Lionheart... therefore, they deserved it.

is it just me, or does nobody really care they bit the dust. I sure as hell think they ruined themselves.

I liked the Clayfighter series, it brought a little innovation to the fighting game market.

That would make a really good signature!

;o I hope they release some of the titles they own to be picked up by another publisher and remade

For example:

Freespace

Volition was bought from Interplay by THQ, but one of their famous game, aside from Red Faction, was "Freespace." They would've made a Freespace 3, but Interplay still held the rights to the name of Freespace ;o.

I'd love to see a Freespace 3 if they'd relinquish the rights to it at a reasonable price

You do know who's likely to pick up any IP rights, don't you? Circling overhead like a ravenous vulture is the vast behemoth of EA...

i just want kingpin 2, if EA gets it, i dont want them to censor it (which they will)

Aww c'mon people! Fallout 3! Now it's screwed and we'll never see it :(

Vivendi will most likely get most of the IP rights and stuff because they're first in the pecking order. The fall of interplay was helped along by their CEO Herve Caen (however you spell his name) because he's an incompetent business man. (or he was simply using IP to fund his ferrari and large house)

Vivendi are having money troubles so I wouldn't bet on them going for IP. Would certainly be better than EA going for it.

Well if Interplay goes bankrupt all rights will pass onto Titus, IP's mother company, if they also go bankrupt (which looks likely at the moment) there will be a bankruptcy sale in which a prospective buyer would be able to pick up several very good licences for a very good price. It is true though, if a company like EA do want for instance the Fallout rights then a bidding war might ensue in which case a company like EA would have an advantage.

EA must not get Fallout rights, they will make a shitty Fallout3 if they would make it.
And Fallout 3 and BG3 was cancelled by interplay because they dident have money to make them but they made some other very shitty console games like Fallout: Brother hood of the steel, that game hasent anything to do with Fallout1,2 and Tactics its just been given the name.
I think the old fallout series sells better today than FBOS.

WH4T?! Interplay is the company who did Kingpin? SH*T!!! i hope Vivendi gets those rights. i dont want EA to get this title. i dont hate EA cause i love Madden and MOH:PA, but i just dont think they could do a game like Kingpin in its full M to A rating glory. i not Kingpin 2 was being made and was supposed to be released in 2005. and it better dammit or someones loosing limbs.
