My brother's got an old comp with a motherboard graphics chip (although it worked fine for me when I was in possession of it) and whenever he plays a video file the colors seem to be inverted. It doesn't work on any player and I'm not sure why. I went through options and color settings but I couldn't find any solution.

Any help would be great.

AMD 1800+ Athlon
Motherboard video chip

Hmm. So just when he plays videos, not all the time?

*edit: nm. I posted to make sure drivers were updated before I realized this was pesmerga asking. :bounce:

Can you give specifics about video playback software, graphics chip, and relevant drivers? If you can't find the graphics chip specifics, the motherboard model will do.

Well it used to play fine.

Would a new LCD monitor affect anything?

Mm, it might if the monitor wasn't plugged in firmly, but then you'd likely be seeing the color problem all the time then. The monitor is a pretty easy item to isolate.. Try a different one.

Its not a desktop wide problem, only with video files.

Pesmerga, I know exactly what it is Im pretty sure..

Do you have a nVidia?

I have a 6800GT, and I had the same problem with the newest nVidia drivers. Specifically the 77.72's.

Go to color tab in Nvidia Control Panel and select "all" to adjust everythings color. Then hit "restore defaults" and apply.

If that doesnt work, you might need to select advanced, and do the same thing....

It's not an nvidia card, it's Pro Savage DDR EXTREEEEEME graphics.

Edit - Nevermind, solved, disabled hardware overlay support.
