I am extremely nervous about this movie. Primarily because it is based off of my favorite book.

It was written by Chuck Palaniuk, same man who wrote Fight Club.
He actually wrote this before Fight Club, it's just that people thought the story was to morbid so they wouldn't publish it at first.

Fight Club the movie turned out to be great, but Invisible Monsters is a very un-Hollywood story. Also, it's very elaborate, and extremely, extremely dark comedy.

I hate when Hollywood screws up good books....

The premise of the book is about a stuck up supermodel who is driving down a deserted street when suddenly she gets in a horrific accident. She wakes up with her entire jaw is missing. Ultimately, she is a freak for the rest of her life, and people will treat her as so.

She ends up seeking out help from this slutty supermodel, and this ridiculously elaborate story unfolds.

that might not sound like much, but the ending is unbelievable and ties everything together so well, it makes Fight Club look predictable in comparison.

Never cared for his books beyond Fight Club. Lullaby was decent, but nothing spectacular. He pretty much writes the same characters in each book and it gets a bit predictable.

yeah i guess if you've read all of his books then yes it would be predictable, along with his style of writing. But Invisible Monsters is definately better than fight club.

I'm a huge fan of his style. Choke is definitely my favorite, but Invisible Monsters and Lullaby are both close seconds. Fight Club was kind of ruined for me because I was told the ending, then saw the movie, then read the book. It's still a great book, just not one of my favorites. I didn't care much for Survivor.

Also though Fight Club did turn out to be a great movie, I doubt any of the others would work as well.
