I am extremely nervous about this movie. Primarily because it is based off of my favorite book.
It was written by Chuck Palaniuk, same man who wrote Fight Club.
He actually wrote this before Fight Club, it's just that people thought the story was to morbid so they wouldn't publish it at first.
Fight Club the movie turned out to be great, but Invisible Monsters is a very un-Hollywood story. Also, it's very elaborate, and extremely, extremely dark comedy.
I hate when Hollywood screws up good books....
The premise of the book is about a stuck up supermodel who is driving down a deserted street when suddenly she gets in a horrific accident. She wakes up with her entire jaw is missing. Ultimately, she is a freak for the rest of her life, and people will treat her as so.
She ends up seeking out help from this slutty supermodel, and this ridiculously elaborate story unfolds.
that might not sound like much, but the ending is unbelievable and ties everything together so well, it makes Fight Club look predictable in comparison.
