So I bought a used iPod today for 40 bucks, I have never used one nor iTunes before though.

How do I remove songs from said iPod? I can't find a simple delete all button on iTunes anywhere....

I know its nearly a worthless thread, but I also know I'll have more questions later on.

Thanks in advance!

EDIT: Also, how can I change the devices name? Its titled the kid whom I bought it from name on my computer.

Hmm. Haven't used iTunes in awhile, but I think you drag the songs you want to remove/insert, or I'm thinking of Zune. Not too sure.

On your sync tab, simply uncheck songs that you don't want on it. Next time you sync with your ipod, it'll delete them off and only keep ones that you want synced.

Of course, I have a touch, dunno how different it is.

To change the devices name, go on the left column, and right click "Frosted's iPod" and that should give you an option to rename it, if I'm correct.

If your iPod can't fit your entire music collection, just make a playlist, put whatever songs you want on that playlist, and then sync your iPod with that playlist.

I remember my first iPod.

I'm thinking about removing the insides and keeping a stack of cards in it.

Thanks everyone, I think I got it. Didn't realize that hitting sync would also delete the old stuff I no longer wanted.

Dabomb, I tried that but I keep getting some "unusable character or name is too long" message (I want to change it to Ryan's iPod, which is really shorter) and trying to change it in iTunes, the name doesn't seem to save. (I change it, close itunes, re-open itunes and the name is the way it was before)

try it without the apostrophe.

N'gai Croal. Pretentious know-it-all, though.

So heres another question. I downloaded a song off Youtube and it went into my iTunes with no problems. I'm listening to it now on iTunes and the song is fine. When I put it on my iPod it'll only play the first 3 seconds before freezing and skipping to the next song.

Anyone ever experience this or know how to fix the song so it plays?
