"During a broadcast earlier in the day, BBC 6 Music news reported “Apple is set to unveil a new video iPod at the BBC Television Centre in London on October the 12th. The company is expected to reveal details of the new MP3 and video player as well as video bundles to be available from the company’s iTunes stores.”

it's been long rumoured that apple would release a video ipod but IMHO I dont see the point ..who wants to watch a movie on a miniscule screen? ..I guess that's why there's very few video sales on the psp. But who knows? apple is the company that could pull it off

Not me. I've never seen the use for portable video devices, other than in a full fledged mini-PC or summit like that.

the only way I see movies being successful on small screens would be if they were made that way in the first place, with a small screen in mind ...maybe it'll be fan driven free movies made for small portable players that'll kick start the industry ...I mean who would want to watch <insert sci-fi summer blackbuster here> on a screen smaller than a credit card

Ipod-vid next week ?

I thought its coming next summer (2006)........... wow thanks Stern for the source

Ugh...what is apple doing... That thing won't sell much I bet.

that's what people said about the ipod ..but now the market is saturated with personal players so you do have a point

Well...yea, but really like you said who would want to watch a video on such a small display? I mean if it was the size of the psp's or something. I know I'd buy one. Also their's way too many ipods already.

God captialism sucks sometimes.

ya but lots of people bought the ipod photo ..who wants to see family photos on a screen that's smaller than a credit card ...yet apple sold tons of them

Well...we will see. Thought apple was a little more innovative then that. :(
