IRC problems

Im new to IRC (I get the jist of how it works though), but I cant get into the #halflife2 room.

I join it and it tells me i need to register as per the intructions on the site. So type
/msg Q hello [email protected] [email protected]
(with my real email obviously) and it says it cant send it.

Am i doing something wrong?

P.s, a clickable link for the IRC channel would be nice. I vaguely remember you had one once.

Haha I see your problem.

Just type '/msg Q hello email email' (Where email is your adress) without Lemonfridge in front

thats what im doing. it says Lemonfridge infront of it because i just copied and pasted from Chatzilla

you tried authing in another channel then trying to get into #halflife2?

what other channels can i try. I joined #halflife, without having to register. Im not overly experienced with IRC so I dont know what rooms are available.

I only wanted to join the chat because I was bored at work yesterday

Try it without joining #halflife2 - theres loads of other rooms - but try just typing it in your connection window.. I'm not familiar with Chatzilla, but in mIRC that'd be the best way to do it.
