Tanks! Well, one tank. And some soldiers, and an alluring female resistance agent. This epic battle between the forces of RTS and FPS has updated its frontpage with a load of new shots: Firstly, there's concept art of the cheap and not-very cheerful Conscripts who act as a military police force within the city, their mass numbers almost making up for their awful training. They're the first infantry unit a Rahmos player can build. Secondly, there's Florence Suivant, a leading Resistance member. And last but certainly not least is the expensive, slow, ludicrously powerful hunk of armour known as the Mastiff tank destroyer - more like an insane bunker with Turret's syndrome than any kind of residential structure. Quite the contrary. That's why I think it's stupid to have them in video games. They're weak, they can't fight, they can't think under the stress of combat, which is why they aren't allowed in for the most part.

And as for the girls that can do that, they're ugly and fat and have short hair.

Yeah usually i dont respond to that kinda of stuff, but i think this is perhaps the most stupid thing i have ever read :p This just has to be a joke.
What are you, somebody living in the stone age? I know army women who look gorgeous and who will knock the living daylights out of schmucks like you :)
Just out of curiosity, what do you know about thinking under stress of combat? :)

First of all, I'd love to have a time machine. I'd go back to caveman times with a louisville slugger and the cavemen would be like "oh **** i'm really short and this facepuncher is really tall and has a shiny club and is going to bash my head in oh man."

Second, go to any military website and under 99% of combat positions, it says women are not applicable.

Third, as for combat experience, none. I was shot at once and whether or not you believe me is irrelevant. I live in a fantastically shitty area where I at least hear a gunfight at least 4 times per week. Yes, I about shat my pants, but I guess you could say my head was clear enough to figure out where to run to. Most girls load their drawers at the sight of a cute mouse, and I'm pretty sure the army has a clear understanding of this.

Find me a picture of a hot girl in a combat situation. Ever. From any country.

On a more on topic subject, those are some mighty fine models, but I would like to see how much lag you could get on a mod like this.

This mod has really made some strides. I am interested in pursuing it as the RTS/FPS mixture seems quite alluring, as does the in depth storyline and quality construction. I've been and will continue to follow this one.

Ready for some education? Here we go. While women are not as physically strong as men, for the most part, the greatest reason that women are not permitted to serve in general infantry companies (some specialist squads are an exception, from my understanding) alongside men is not because of their inherent 'weaknesses' that you listed. One of the major causes is in fact MEN'S weaknesses. The ARMY found that by including women in squads men made uneccessary actions to show off, act protective, and generally make fools of themselves. While I do exaggerrate, most if not all men that I know act differently when in the company of well known male companions than in the company of even one female. Also, the possibility of relationships, the emotional damage of seeing a woman wounded (several studies have proven that the death/wound of a woman is more traumatic to men than the same wound on another man), the possibility of rape or other sexual harassment charges complicates the situation. As for not being able to deal with pressure under fire, women are generally more capable of handling multi-stress situations and multitasking than men. Women are not forbidden the jobs because they are 'weak' or 'unable (in most cases)' but because it would become a logistical nightmare that would decrease the efficiency of the fighting forces.

Just want to say that an enormous part of the french resistance during WWII
was women (just because men were prisoners) and made really perious actions
of sabotage and war. In United States, the war was winned because of women too ; they worked hard to construct libertyships and weapons, to bring up the
allied economy ...
I'm conscious that I'm free because of these women and i'll will never be able
to thanks them enough.

Iron Grip is looking good, they always seem to have a good backplot behind their characters, that's what i like...

The tanks look stunning... can't wait.
Though my comp would probably explode under the strain... :(

I dated a few Israeli women, and as some of you might know, in Israel EVERYBODY serves. And what do you see? Loads of female officers...
An army of men + women, and no whining women like the prehistoric image you have. They also look REALY GOOD, sometimes its like walking through a nice playboy episode featuring women in military clothing :p
I also dated an Israeli woman who was an officer, plenty of them around.
So i dont know where you get your dillusions, but perhaps you shouldnt watch to many B-Action movies.

See, at first I thought Glo-Boy was referring to the weirdness of the model. It just looks a little strange; the chin is maybe too sharp and the smile is weird and creepy. But you probably wouldn't notice in-game.
 
What is this whole female discussion about? Florence isn't in the army, she's fighting for the resistance. Hell even kids fight for the resistance.

As for xiliquiern, you're also right about that. However, you're wrong in that you think my statements have no bearing. Girls are just not physically or mentally equipped for killing.

Israel? Oh jeez I forgot about Israel! Oh wait no I didn't. Israeli women do not see combat. I am not a moron, in fact, I'm going to give you a little education on how that works.

See, at the age of 16, all boys and girls are drafted. Boys for 3 years, girls for 21 months. I see a difference already. The question of whether or not women should serve in combat is argued by the Israeli government, and by the women themselves. As much as they go through training, Israeli women in the army do not and will not ever see combat. Most of them become instructors. Whether it be for armor or dispatch or whatever. Most of the work women do in the Israeli army is secretarial - organizing papers. The closest they'll ever get to combat is training a bunch of men.

Various shots of women in the armed forces, particularly the last few (apart from the last one, where a woman is training for a combat situation) with women on patrol. I've seen plenty of women on the frontline on the news. Also, if you actually bothered looking at half of those pictures on that last website, you'd see half of the women were on patrol in combat areas. In response to the Israel thing - One of my friends is Israeli and going into the army soon, and apparently, women do serve on the frontline.

On topic, Iron Grip looks great :D. The RTS/FPS mixture is so underused, particularly like this, but potentially so good. Nothing like directing the combat from above then swooping in and getting in on the fray. Should be great fun.

Thats bull. I know many women from Israel and I was born there. All men and women are drafted at 18, not 16, and women DO see combat situations. Both my mother and my sister were in combat situations. Also, I don't think anyone takes a snapshot while getting shot at.

As far as i know ppl in Israel get drafted around 18, not 16..
And have you ever thought about the fact that mixed infantry wouldnt work since there could be much rape, sexual abuse and other crap on the frontlines?
Its the men who will pose a problem, not the women.
Even though in modern NATO armies indeed lots of women serve in infantry positions.
Have you also considered many women have different "tastes" and apply for other positions?
Nevertheless, i think plenty of people here have shown you examples of women fighting. you think women cant kill??? lol! You seriously never heard of female murderors? women who slay their men and children for cash? :p
As for "ability to sustand pain", women are just as capable if not more. For instance delivering a child ( the pain )seems to be something a regular guy could not bare and would die from.

Judging from your response i dont think any of the links and examples anybody posted will convince you. You simply "dont want to see", which is ok.

So you keep thinking women are incapable of fighting and killing, while the rest of the world moves on into the 21st century.
 
Perhaps 16 was a rule from before. I'm not saying women don't want to fight, I'm saying that generally, they aren't cut out for it, on top of the fact that they're usually banned from it.

And like any rule, there are exceptions. Just barely any.

Haha, oh, and to the guy who said last page that I need to stop watching B rated action movies... well, that wasn't even close to funny or true. I have ridiculously good taste in movies, and that's one thing I can stand to. B Rated action movies are usually the ones that feature 'tough hot girls.' So how about you go back to watching Requiem for a Dream or whatever the hell you're into.
