arg. 9800pro or 9800pro aiw? I want all the video/tv crap, but is it worth it - vs. say a 9800pro and a video capture card? does the TV chip slow down the card? I know nothing about dvi/tv in, so can someone enlighten me as to what's 'good' and what's 'bad' in this area. Ideally I'd like to use my comp as a Tivo-like setup.

they are exactly the same minus the video capturing abilities and extra ports.

it doens't slow it down... look at the reviews, I think there are some good comparisions.

but i suggest getting a large HDD if you're going vivo.

If you want the vivo and all that video stuff, definitely get an AIW. I wish I could get one.

AIW is an awesome setup. Grab one.
They have a few other features that the TV Wonder cards don't.
I own one AIW but it is old. ATI AIW rage 128 pro (16MB PCI).

Still works great when I wanna use it.

unless you seriously plan on doing hardcore video editing and are unhappy with the pci solutions in that realm, I would not suggest picking one up. It's nice, but are you really going to use its extra capabilites?

Tv Wonder doesn't have the S-Video In though. That's a big mistake IMO when doing video capture as you want to prevent as much loss of quality as possible. Even if it's VHS.
