Oh man, i had the same and it blew, i know how you feel.

Now i got a 4200. Bah, it's good enough. And also, I'm looking into OC'ing it, when i learn how and have the proper stuff....I heard you can get 4200s to be as fast as 4600s...

Just search for a program called coolbits. Its the easiest way to overclock Geforce cards, and yes, the TI4200 is an excellent overclocker. But that doesn't necessarily you can get up to TI4600 speeds, its all gonna depend on your cooling.

Just out of curiosity where do all these lower end GFFX cards fit in? Did they do crappier chips with the same name like they did with the GF4 MX?

no, they are the higher-end geforces, DX9 cards. it goes: 5200 (value DX9 card) 5600 (normal DX9 card) 5900 (UBER KEWL $402 DX9z CARD!!!!)

seriously dude, it may be a DX9 card that supports all the DX9 features, but it simply doesn't have the power to run those features, in some cases it performs worse than a ti4200

don't mix up the geforce 4 mx with the ti. The mx is just a suped up geforce 2, the ti is a good card.

all of the GeForce4 Ti's are good cards, and they perform better than the FX5200 and FX5600 cards, if i'm not mistaken

Yeah, raw power that is. But since the Ti series isnt DX9 oriented, the FX 5600 probly runs better in some things. The 5200 is just shit though.

correct, the FX 5600s will make HL2 look better than the Ti's, but the TI's will probably be faster

i also have a geforce 4 mx 420.......:-(.......im never buying nvidia again unless i see some 100% reviews.

DUN DUN DUN! (Dramatic music plays)

I have a Radeon 8500. The thing is, all my games look really very nice on it, but they run slow.... I need a new vid card a processer for HL 2, or I'm gonna be sucking pond water....

That's the card I have. It does seem to be doing fine(abliet,I wont be able to get super-high quality graphics with it,but I just stick with medium).

Frankly, you wont notice the difference between medium and high settings when you're run and gunning through city-17.:p

I mean,I'd like you to actually KNOW the difference between the 5900 Ultra and the Radeon 9800 Pro in this comparison.

Blame it on bad eyesight, but I couldnt tell much of a difference without squinting and focusing on it. I just couldnt tell if it was in an action sequence.

You have played HL2?

Didnt think so.

hehehe, i got a 5200, just because it wasnt my main computer, and it needed a decent card that wasnt too much, and it had a little higher clock rating then my ti4200 in my other computer

True. Just saying that most games to date dont really have much of a visual difference between medium and high when your running.

But, let me rephrase that. I seriously doubt that you wont notice the difference between high and medium settings when you're running and gunning through City-17.

There,is that better?

most games today have quite a clear difference between medium and high settings to me that even i notice when running through action sequences

I could just have bad eyesight, actually. Dont wear glasses, and my whole family has glasses..

*shrugs* Just never really noticed the difference. Then again,I dont mind the graphics in CS..
