I am talking about the 6800 ultra beating out the x800xt..

Would you like an explaination? It's pretty easy actually. When ever you look at benchmarks you should really look at the system specs and driver versions that they use.

ATI's 4.9 WHQL drivers have a memory efficency issue with 256MB cards. Simple. They benchmarked the cards right when CSS was released and used all offical WHQL drivers instead of ATI's beta 8.07 drivers which fix the memory efficency issue. Now if you wait for these drivers to be released next month then you will see.

Check out the 3Dmark2005 benchmarks. Some reviews compare ATI's 4.9 drivers with the beta 8.07 version and there is a very large increase in performance in 3Dmark2005.

8.05 = 4.9
8.07 = 4.11 (Will be released in Nov. as offical drivers)

I'm pretty sure this memory efficency bug is only with the current 4.9 drivers. I don't believe the 4.8 drivers suffered from that issue although I could be wrong.

:| Just for verification, the GeForce FX works in DX8 or DX8.1. They said it doesn't produce same IQ as DX9 mode in all Radeon AND in GeForce 6-series.

So the X800 DOES beat out the 6800 series in DX9 right? lol your the best Asus.

:dozey: You mean CAN, depending on which drivers and system specs you are utilizing.

I've seen a few issues with Nvidia cards not running with AA or AF at all in games like Joint of Operations. Don't pull that driver thing up. haha

What you can also see in most benchmarks is also that ati usually prefers higher res and some AA (with some nifty temp. aa occasionally) when pitting nv and ati against each other.
And of coures the driver thingy :)

Yeah, if you buy a card like that most expect to use some AA or AF. I'm running CSS right now at 1024x768 No AA/4xAF at about 80FPS. Now if I had a X800 I could run with AA also, maybe even with temporal AA.
