Minimizing the game as it begins to load a new scene reduce the time to load? It really seems like it does to me.

Anyway, if your computer is really slow at load-screens, might want to try alt-tabbing right as it starts and just leaving it minimizing until you can hear the loading finish.

Ever since I had 1gb of memory fry on me I never minimize, especially a UE3 game

I tab out of games all the time. Never had a problem. Some of them do seem to do it faster than others though. As for it making bioshock run faster, its probably just an illusion since you're not watching the loading bar anymore. "A watched pot never boils" kinda thing.

The only games that I have ever been able to tab would be source games. bioshock is really running badly on my system. ive got a geforce 7800 gs and I tried playing at 1024 by 768 with settings at max with no aa or af..god the lag..

im getting an avg of 10 fps. Ive got a 2.8ghz processor with HT enabled and some shit brandless 1 GIG of Ram at a horrible 333mhz. and a geforce 7800 gs with 256Mb TM.

probably the ram. Tried the new nvidia drivers? (The beta is now official, I recommend trying it although I didn't notice any difference from the beta itself)
