I remember when the PS2/Gamecube/Xbox came out. You coud tell their graphics apart from those of the PS/Nintendo 64 right away. The difference was impressive. But now comes the Xbox 360 and its graphics don't look that impressive compared to those of the PS2/Gamecube/Xbox or the graphics of my PC (which has 3 year old video card). Either this new technology sucks or they haven't made a game that pushes this console to its limits. Until that day comes, keep playing HL2 and CounterStrike :)

Well unless your playing your 360 on a standard tv and not hd I would have to completely disagree with you. 360 is simply amazing and Im very very very very very picky.

It just came out. Let the developers get used to the hardware.

Personally I think the 360 has much improved noticeable graphical capability over it's predecessor.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. However, if you play these games on an HDTV and then go back to a PS2 or Xbox game, you can definitely see the difference. I have Condemned, Kameo, PGR3, Perfect Dark 0, and Call of Duty 2. Each one looks amazing. I suggest checking out PGR3 and racing in it's first person perspective. It's easily one of the most immersive racers out there. Try the Fight Night Round 3 demo too. It looks friggin amazing.

Personally kameo just has me in utter awe, the amount of detail in it is amazing!! And this is coming from someone that demands the best and im used the best on my pc.... well was. Except I need to change my sig cause i no longer have the apple cinema display ive got the dell 2405 24" now so I can play 360 as well in all its HD glory!! :bounce:

yeah, i think the 360 is ok, i dont think it was as much of a technological push as the first xbox was when it came out, and my computer more powerful than the 360. However for a console it is pretty neat.

This is just the begining remember... It's only been out for just over a month.
Nothings pushed it yet.

When Oblivion comes out, it'll change your mind.

It kinda sucks for us PC users that have had nice computers to run HL2 on high. We've been seeing close-to next-gen stuff for a long time now.

What are you smoking dude

Right now the XBOX 360 sucks, people telling you otherwise are just early adopters trying to justify their purchase, generic games and crappy tittles don't justify the buy right now, I think however this could change in the future, I mean, the hardware is impressive and once the killer games start to come up, and when the console drops down in price (maybe not in a long time), it will be worthy, but to sum up, yes, right now as this moment, the xbox sucks, not really worthy, for now...

X360 NON-HDTV...ok...but not great.

X360 with HDTV...very good, but depends on the size and quality of the TV.

LOL you sir have no idea what you are talking about, and you are "one of those people" that probably couldnt afford one so your saying garbage like this to "justify" you not being able to buy one or a decent HDTV to play it on. Just about every game Ive played so far on the 360 has me hooked with the exception of madden :| and Im not easly entertained especially when it comes to games. Kameo and PDZ are a couple examples very fun gameplay and graphics that look better than anything Ive seen on my comp so far. Unless of course like I said before your playing this on a non hdtv. IMO the TV makes ALL the difference in the world with the 360.

I have an HDTV, but don't feel like buying an XBOX 360 for the graphics, I mean I get pretty decent graphics with my pc, I am not interested in playing mediocre games with nice graphics on and HDTV, right now is not the moment to get that console, there is no games right now to justify the early adoption, like I did with my Dreamcast and Soulcalibur II, man that was a Next Gen console back in the day, you could tell for Day one it was next gen, I think down the line I will buy an XBOX 360, but right now, it will be just sitting there right to my HDTV doing nothing, aerly adopters are just trying to convince themself they did the right thing, is there really a grame that you could live without on that console?, not now, I hope it will come, but for now, there isn't any...

I like how some assholes just try pass off this idea that they fully understand how 360 purchasers feel about their console (ie. "trying to convince themselves they did the right thing").

I so agree that the dreamcast was the system that was actually a Next-Gen system. If the dreamcast had HDTV capability, it would be equal or better than the XBOX360.

He's right though.

Beyond the graphics, no game on 360 is superior to anything avaliable on previous-generation consoles.

No, I actually enjoy the games and the system that I've purchased. But according to you, I'm really just trying to justify my purchase.

Here's some food for thought. Other people actually have different preferences and opinions. That may be a shock to you but I swear it's the truth.

The system as a whole just seems nice to me and for being just that "launch" titles they dont seem half bad, Guess Im just more easly entertained than the fellow gamer, good thing for me I guess! :cheese:

The graphics are horrible. Especsially PGR3

:dozey: /end sarcasm

But graphics don't make next-gen. And next-gen doesn't necessarily equal "good". Condemned or Kameo are arguably the most "next-gen" of the launch titles and Call of Duty 2 is probably the least. Yet Call of Duty 2 is still my favourite launch game.

the graphics are noticably better in pgr3 :hmph:

The point isn't that it's unfun.

The point is that the games aren't better than previous tech, and therefore the console isn't worth this much hype or cash.

Whoops, wrong smiley. The "PGR3 graphics sucks" was sarcasm. To say those graphics sucks is...stupid.As hell.

Hm?

Those pics only go so far. It doesn't really show off it's HDR lighting or the motion blur. It really must be seen in motion to truly appreciate it.

I almost agree with not buying a 360 for the quality of the games, I played PGR3 on the 360 and it was amazing, but then I went back to Forza on the Xbox and there was so much more to do that I really don't justify buying a 360 yet. Same with Perfect Dark, it's a great shooter, the motion blur is amazing, I played the whole coop at Glirk's house for the whole weekend, but at the end of it, I really didn't feel like buying a 360 for it.

Although Madden blows my mind, looks amazing :)

The only game I hated on the X360 was Call of duty 2. Boring, Boring and a lot more boring.

If you don't play on HDTV it's just not worth it imo. The release games just your standard share of console tripe, no point in experiencing the same stuff you've been playing for years on a crappy TV. Part of the reason for 360 gaming was high-definition gaming.

BTW HDTVs will probably come down in a price a lot by the end of the year
RETAILERS are predicting price falls of up to 50 per cent next year for LCD television screens as Japanese and Korean manufacturers crank up their production lines.

So maybe get a 360 then and a HDTV. 360 will be cheaper, better games will be out. Winwinwinwin.

What about that RPG game, Elder Scrolls that game looks like real life.

PC FTW!! Your missing the mods and conversions with the PC version. If they do release mods and stuff on the X360 version, it will happen via Xbox live, and of course (all things microsoft) you have to pay for them. The PC version will have all the mods free.

So which version is the one with near perfect graphics?

Near perfect? What the hell? Those graphics are still sooooo very far from being even near perfect. The best CG in the most expensive films is still not perfect and games are at least 10-20 years behind rendering that quality in real-time.

Don't you guys think graphics are slowing down anyway? Are the increases in graphics the same as what we had a few years ago? Polycounts are increasing but time to create art is too. What I'm trying to say is don't you think the payoffs are getting smaller compared to the costs?

Actually I have the money to buy it, I am adult, I have a work, and like I said, I have an HDTV a small one if I may add just 30" , but capable of displaying 720P and 1080i, like I said before I just think is not worthy now.

Hey Absinthe, did you just insult me right there? I've never insulted anyone here and I won't start now, no need to do that man, you just have to post that you disagree with my opinion and then proceed to state yours, but don't resolve to insults man, that just to low...

I love my 360 not as much as PC but im loving my games.

It's called the law of diminishing returns.

Ahh you got me there I literally ment that they were near perfect and not very, very good.

I don't have an xbox 360 but I've played with my friend's quite a bit. It's nice and everything, but at this point in time it doesn't provide what I look for in gaming. I'm sure that won't be the case forever though.
