We are uber cheap so we decided to delay mothers day so we get the flowers on offer . Nah well it's mainly because she is too busy and stuff like that but still, cheap flowers means more flowers/other mother related gifts

It's the "international women's day", where the feminists (and there're lots of them here, trust me) demostrate against the violance against women. Maybe it's not as big in the UK as it is here in Sweden.

i can agree about the cards, but the presents are bought to show that you care, and you thank them for everything that theyve done.. basically. :O

I got my mum a card, some nice potted flowers, a decorative glass oil burner, and a nice big mug (since I totalled her last one). Sounds expensive but it cost me less than a tenner all-in because I went to a restricted-entry trade warehouse (unbelievably cheap stuff). I have a special card because i'm special.

I bought my mum some Lindt 70% and 85% cocoa chocolate.

You can eat far far less of it and still get the same feeling of happiness that you get from regular chocolate. I never used to really like it dark, but now I do quite like having a piece every so often.

It is Spring, March is the first month of Spring.
I think it was Women's World Day of Prayer on Friday, don't ask me what that is, it was announced in assembly.
