is it possible for a moder to improve the physics even more?

for example, program 20 different break points each looking different from the other, for a single 2x4 piece of wood, im sure it would be very difficult, but how cool would that be
 
It would be easy.

The question is, will it eat your CPU alive.

I don't see why the various break points would kill your CPU. Only one of them is used when you shoot it, right? Or do all the active break points create a constant strain on your hardware? (like polygons)
 
Do you mean add loads and loads of breakpoints, or actually edit the havok code? If you mean the latter, then nope, that's not available to modders. You could pay havok lots of money and they'll give you the code though!
 
well not the havok engine, all we can do is change some stuff with the sdk. improving physics no, changing and putting in stuff valve decided not to, yes
