For the past 3 days, my hl2.net site has been extremely slow, taking up to five minutes to open a page, this has never happened before. even the icons load at 1 per second. Does anyone else experience this, is there something going on with the server?

My internet works perfectly, all my other websites run fine..

good god, this page took five minds to load..

ok wait, its the new icons, when i did not press ctrl f5, it works fast and fine, and then with the new icons, it lags to the core..wt wierd..

The pages take ages to finish loading for me because of the stupid "have you got the skills to pay the bills?" ads. But that's just my crappy connection.

I would suggest my usual statement for such slowness - clear temporary internet crap, turn off indexing, consider a defrag. Why your other webistes run fine I cannot say, perhaps they are more text based?

right, seriously its the new icons. i can't believe it, i did a few experiments and loading times multiplied by five with the new icons enabled (ctrl+f5).. so, I will just stick with the old icons. thx for your replies anyway..
