OK, from what I am reading, this is a PSU dieing, but I'm wanting extra opinions.
I have a brand new Gigabyte NForce2 400 mobo, 768MB PC2100 ram, Athlon 2600+ with Thermaltake Silent Boost heatsink/fan, and an Antec case/power supply.
last week my PC just shut down on its own (Like when there is a power failure. just dead). went to turn it on after a few seconds...and nothing. no fans, NOTHING.
ok, opened up the case to check for loose cables, etc. everything seemed fine, pluged it in, started right up. OK.
just now it did it to me again. this time I took the side off and looked inside as I tried to start it. When I hit hte power switch, the case fans budge about a quarter inch, and stop (Like they got a small burst of power) and the RamLED turns on/stays on. nothing else.
Leaving it off for ohh...5-10 minutes and it will start up.
so, does this sound like a mobo issue, or a PSU issue, or a CPU issue?
