OK, from what I am reading, this is a PSU dieing, but I'm wanting extra opinions. :)

I have a brand new Gigabyte NForce2 400 mobo, 768MB PC2100 ram, Athlon 2600+ with Thermaltake Silent Boost heatsink/fan, and an Antec case/power supply.

last week my PC just shut down on its own (Like when there is a power failure. just dead). went to turn it on after a few seconds...and nothing. no fans, NOTHING.

ok, opened up the case to check for loose cables, etc. everything seemed fine, pluged it in, started right up. OK.

just now it did it to me again. this time I took the side off and looked inside as I tried to start it. When I hit hte power switch, the case fans budge about a quarter inch, and stop (Like they got a small burst of power) and the RamLED turns on/stays on. nothing else.

Leaving it off for ohh...5-10 minutes and it will start up.

so, does this sound like a mobo issue, or a PSU issue, or a CPU issue?

when it died the first time while you were using it, where you using alot of components eg like cd player, in game yada yada

what's the wattage on your psu

 It's a PSU problem I strongly think. I my old HP I had the same problem... sometimes when I went to turn on the computer it woundn't turn on. So it would piss me off and I would hit the computer, amazingly that was a pretty good trick. I had some computer tech guy check it out, he said it was the PSU, I replaced it and bam the baby worked like a charm again.

if it dies, it's usually when I'm just browsing the web or something, never had it happen in game.
