is pc2100 good enough?

i have 768 mb of pc2100 memory, and was going to get another 256 for a whole gig. i was wondering though, would the performance be worthwhile to simply save that money and get a whole gig of pc2700? I never really understood the differences in performance between more memory and faster memory, so any help would be appreciated

I would probably just save up for 2700 ram. You could sell what you have now to help. The prices between 2700 and 3200 are similar though, so just get 3200.
