Is Stephen Colbert actually trying to run for president?

Who knows. He can't ever be serious.
I hope so, I'd vote for him!
 
It wouldn't be any more ridiculous than any of the other candidates running.
 
I bought his book on Saturday and I am now totally convinced that he needs to be president.

Anyone who says that old people look like lizards and that children are like body snatchers has my vote. :D

I'm really looking forward to the jokes they pull on his "campaign" trail.
 
I want to see how many votes he ends up with.

His book is great. It took me a couple minutes to realize he was being sarcastic with everything he said. I almost tagged him as a crazy conservative
 
He is running in both the democratic and republican primaries in south carolina.

So he is not serious about a national run but it will be interesting to see how he does in the south carolina primaries. Personally I would vote for him over any other candidate, republican or democratic.
 
He says he doesn't want to be president, but he wants to run for president.
 
He is (as mentioned) only running in his home state, which is South Carolina. He did say he intended to run in both primaries (republican and democrat) but that was a joke (and would be against the law as far as I understand it). He is going to run in the democrat's primary because that's what he (the man, not the character) is (real reason) and that is also the cheapest way to do it (official colbert report reason). If he was to run for a republican front position that would cost him about USD 35k ("MOTHER****ER!" - stephen colbert) but to run for the democrat front position he only needs a couple of thousand dollars or some thousand signatures from "south carolina voters who consider themselves democrats", and that is the route he is going.

Can you write-in candidates on the ballot if you're in a different state? Some Facebook group is telling people to do so.
